In this connection,NFIR reiteratesthat grievancescontinued to be received from the Track Maintainersthat the Keymen are facing lot of hardshipdue to increasedwork load, while the DC/JCM subjectcontinuedto remain pendingunresolvedsincethe past 13 years.It has been given to understandto the Federationthat though Committeewas setupby the Board vide leffer No. ERB-V20L3123/14datedt9102/2013to assessthe manpowerrequirementfor getting work of greasing of Elastic Rail Clips (ERCs) done by gang and to suggest necessarychangesto . MCNTM formula for gang strength calculation but unfortunately the report of the said Committeehasnot beensharedby the Railway Ministry with the.Federation. NFIR, therefore once again requeststhe Railway Board to kindly considerthe caseon nrgency basis and issue instructions to the Zonal Railways to off-load the Keyman from additional duties and to deploy additional gang strengthof Track Maintainers. A copy of the instructionsissuedmav be endorsedto the Federation. DA/As above

He has to minuiely observe to detect the defects in t'ack and er,-aluatesafeiunsafecondition of track and accordingly take safetyprecautions to ensuresaferunning of t'ain. He should be aiq'ays alert to savehimself from gefting run o1'ei:&om train. After compietiag foot to foot inspectionin first half, he is assignedto attendtrack in secondhalf.
