Interactive Workshop on Energy Conservation Building Code Code-2017 & ECBC Rules, 2018 WHY? (NEED FOR THE EVENT) The Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC), was launched by Ministry of Power ,Government of India in May 2007, as a first step towards promoting energy efficiency in the building sector. In June 2017, ECBC 2017 was launched by BEE, with technical support from USAID. During the launch event, it was indicated that an ECBC compliant new building should be able to demonstrate minimum energy savings of 25% compared to a conventional building. Further, ECBC 2017 encourages additional improvements in building energy performance. As per ECBC 2017, a new building can achieve higher grades like ECBC+ or Super ECBC status and these buildings should be able to demonstrate energy savings of 35% and 50%, respectively In order to ensure compliance to the mandatory provisions of the code, ECBC-2018 rules were notified by the government in the month of February,2018.

by the Indian Association of Energy Management Professionals (IAEMP) and Association of Green Industries and Services (AGIS). IAEMP "Indian Association of Energy Management Professional" (IAEMP), is an association of BEE Certified Energy Managers and Energy Auditors. With a humble start from 16 energy conscious experts joining hands in the year 2006, the idea of bringing energy professionals soon became a revolution all over India and today IAEMP boasts of being a strong association of more than 500 Energy managers/ auditors/ professionals as paid members and 7,500 yahoo group members AGIS "Association of Green Industries and Services" (AGIS), is an association of Individuals and Organisations engaged in promoting eco-friendly and natural products and services. AGIS is registered at Bengaluru as a ‘Not for Profit’ company under section-8 of the Companies Act, 2013. The company at present has strength of 15 Organisation members and 65 Professionals from different green domains.
