American Culinary Federation National President Thomas Macrina, CEC, CCA, AAC, Recognized by Honour Society of the Canadian Culinary Federation St. Augustine, Fla., June 9, 2015—Thomas Macrina, CEC®, CCA®, AAC®, American Culinary Federation’s (ACF) national president, was recognized as an honorary member of the Canadian Culinary Federation Honour Society, May 26, at Raymonds Restaurant, St John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. Macrina was inducted into the society along with 10 other culinary professionals from Canada. Macrina was the only honorary inductee awarded this year. The Canadian Culinary Federation’s Honour Society was developed to honor and recognize leadership and professional excellence by representing and promoting culinary excellence, friendship and goodwill. Induction into the honour society is given to visiting dignitaries who have shown foresight and dedication, have contributed to their branch, chapter or federation, and have demonstrated a lifetime of passion and service to the culinary profession. “To be inducted into the prestigious Honour Society of the Canadian Culinary Federation is a great privilege,” said Macrina. “I am proud to be presented with this honor along with the individuals and innovators who have helped make the culinary industry the respected profession it is today.” Macrina, of Philadelphia, is a Certified Executive Chef® (CEC), Certified Culinary Administrator® (CCA), and a member of the American Academy of Chefs® (AAC), an honor society for chefs. Macrina is a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Hyde Park, New York. His experience includes executive chef at the Downingtown Inn Resort, Downingtown, Pennsylvania, and executive chef at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center, Malvern, Pennsylvania. Macrina was elected to the position of ACF national president in 2013-2015 and was reelected as national president for the 2015-2017 term. In 2011-2013, he served on ACF’s national board of directors as secretary.
