What is CLC?
CLC stands for Community Learning Center, an after school program. CLC students do homework, get help in academic skills, learn through enrichment activities and have fun together at their school and in their community.

How can parents/guardians help?
Please support your child’s regular attendance at CLC and show interest in their school work and activities. If your child is not taking the bus, please be on time to pick him/her up. CLC staff cannot stay late to wait with students. Parent volunteers are welcome at CLC.
What does all this cost?
$50 Registration fee for the entire school year $25 Bus transport for the year (if needed)
Fees waived (FREE) for students who qualify for Free/Reduced School Lunch In partnership with Auburn School Department, CLC is funded by a grant from the Maine Department of Education 21st Century Community Learning Center Initiative
More CLC Info… How do I sign up? It’s a two-part process! 1. Have your parent/guardian complete a registration form online www.bit.ly/amsclc or bring home a paper form to complete. Bring in the signed parent release form and bus fee that is due. The fees cover the full year of CLC. Students who qualify for free or reduced school lunch do not need to pay a fee, but still need to have forms completed and signed. 2. For each 6-8 week session (see schedule below), students sign up for CLC activities online www.bit.ly/clcactivity You will let us know your first and second choices for each session.
Some popular activities are repeated throughout the year so even if you don't get your
first choice, you may still join that activity later in the year.
What happens at CLC? 1. You’ll attend a guided study on your team from 2-2:45 to do homework, get help with academics, or read. This is a quiet study time, not a time to play games, socialize or listen to music. All CLC study rooms will have an S.O.P. posted, which will include coming prepared with all the supplies (books, laptops, etc.) you will need to work AND marking your attendance EVERY DAY for both CLC and the Late Bus. 2. At 2:45, you have the option to leave on the 2:45 bus or stay for a CLC activity. If you
are staying, taking everything that is going home with you to head to the cafeteria for a healthy snack and time to socialize and stretch before activities start. After snack, staff will dismiss CLC activities to different parts of the building or outdoors.
