A student can opt out of writing one exam not including any English or Math course including the following criteria: No more than 6 excused absences (not including school-based activity absences) in a single course. No more than 6 “lates” in a single course. All major pieces of assessment must be completed. Student must be passing the course. Eligibility can be affected by violating the Provincial School Code of Conduct allowing a student to exempt one exam if they have no more than 6 excused absences per any course and no more than 6 lates per course in a semester course. The list of those courses that are exempt from this practice remains the same as in previous years. This practice will be consistent with high schools in the HRSB.
