GOAL MINUTE #
CHAIRMAN'S WORDS It has been a long time coming but all good things come to those that wait. The Stadium has been long talked about. There was talk and some action back 6 or so years ago about redeveloping Trekardo Park , but the lack of space and because it was in the 1950's and 60's the old Ballarat tip , the land is very unstable and would have cost a lot of money to stabilize the ground. We now find ourselves in what I believe is the best football Stadium in Victoria (obviously not including AAMI Park) and set for what is our biggest match in the clubs 46 year history as we take on the Oceania Team of the Century South Melbourne. At this stage I would also like to welcome South Melbourne board members , officials , players , supporters and members to Morehead Park Stadium today. A huge amount of work has gone into getting the McDonald Ballarat Red Devils up and going this season . Remember it was now less than 80 days ago that we got the green light from the FFV. In that time we have put together a complete club from the ground up. 80 days ago we didn't have players , coaches , sponsors , members , ball , kits ..... the list goes on. It is nothing short of a miracle that we are all standing here today watching a match in the NPLV. I would like to public thank a few people that have gone over and above what was required . And in saying that, if these 6 or 7 people had not and if the link had been broken by just 1 person I think that it would have been very difficult for the club to be here today. Tony Spurge and Wayne Sandford had been absolutely brilliant. They took on the massive role in the football department to get the Red Devils Senior team up and going . They should get a huge pat on the back for the way that they have gone about the work. Manager James Robinson has been wonderful and worked night and day with the players to get them to a level that we can sit here and watch them take it up to every team in the League. Brogan Johnson has done everything asked of him and more and continues to be the first at training and the last to leave . Others who have worked ever so hard over the past 3 months is our Business Manager Darrin Carroll , Yogan Moodley, Adam Bogers , Peter Gaffney, Gavin De Livera , Bernie Curtain and Paul Donald. The very best of luck to all the players today and tomorrow and remember if winning and losing wasn 't important they wouldn 't keep score. Go Reds Duncan Smith Chairman

ALL THE TALK....... .
COACH'S CORNER I would like to welcome everybody to Morehead today it what is a very special day. If the game against Pascoe Vale last weekend has taught us anything as a group, it is that we know we can control games at this level , but we need to be able to finish the job off. After 5 straight away games and a large amount of km's on the odometer, we are about to grace the hallowed turf of our own pitch for the very first time. If you have driven by and looked at it, unbelievable would be the word , and if you haven't I think this Saturday would be a perfect chance. What an opportunity not just to see the stadium , but come and see a group of players who are doing the club, town , and region proud with the way they play. A big welcome to Chris and the South Melbourne faithful this week, who will provide us with a great game. I am sure the South Melbourne fans will add to the atmosphere with our own local fans to make it a great experience for everyone involved.
