MATCH REPORT FALCONS ONE- WOLLONGONG NIL A depleted Morwell Falcons scored a one nil win against Wollongong City to lift the Falcons and resurrect hopes of finishing up the Coca Cola Soccerleagueladde~

A slow paced Wollongong never really seemed to be in the game and the early ascendancy was certainly with the Falcons. Keeper Steve Mautone was destined for one of his quieter games as Falcons pushed forward with Lachlan Armstrong drew first blood in the 20th minute after a Djordjevic corner. Wollongong were spraying shots all over the park and never really looked as though they were going to score which saw Falcons take a one nil lead into the break. The second half left a lot to be desired in terms of classy football but a solid Falcons backline ably led by Shaun Parton were basically inpenetratable. Claudio Canosa, Paul Donnelly and Steve Douglas made the task for the Wollongong forwards a difficult one and were not about to let this one slip after past encounters where a lack of concentration has cost them dearly. Falcons finished the game with a few speculative shots whistling over the City bar but the best chance fell to Sonny Sevin in the later stages of the game when a glancing header skewed across an empty goal denying Falcons their second

MORWELL-TRARALGON STATE EMERGENCY SERVICE The State Emergency Service is a volunteer organisation who's members are involved in many aspects of emergency work within local communities. Some activities within the Morweii!Traralgon Unit include the following: ROAD ACCIDENT RESCUE WINDSTORM FLOOD INDUSTRIAL RESCUE BUSH SEARCH AND RESCUE COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT TO OTHER EMERGENCY SVCES The Morweii!Traralgon S.E.S. have approximately 40 active members participating in the above services. To maintain this professional standard of service to the community, the service occasionally has to ask for financial assistance for the upgrade of necessary rescue equipment. One of the Unit's projects for this year is to replace their paging system at a projected cost of around $4,500 to $5,000. As can be appreciated efficient response is critical to the overall operation of the Unit. Our Rescue vehicles and equipment including the IIJAWS OF LIFE/I are on display tonight and the Officers will be happy to show you the equipment and answer any questions about the State Emergency Service. Please take this opportunity to familiarise yourself.
