Band and Chorus Fieldtrip to the Capitol Wednesday, February 23, 2011 Band and Chorus Parents, This is a reminder that next Wednesday, (Feb. 23rd) the Band and Chorus will be taking their trip to perform at the Capitol and eat lunch at Hard Rock Café. A full schedule is on the back of this letter along with the menu for Hard Rock Café. Students and chaperones will get to choose their lunch off of the menu. We ask that all participants have their choice in mind before we arrive to help with quick service from Hard Rock Café. Following are a few FAQ’s to help with your planning. [email protected]) Thanks, and we’re looking forward to it! Miss Foster and Mrs. Seymour When will we leave? We will be leaving MCMS at 8:30am When will we return? We should be returning to school by 2:15 pm, and students should plan on attending their last connections class. What to Wear: Chorus students : may wear their regular school clothes for the bus ride and lunch, but will need to change to their formal attire before we leave Hard Rock Café for their performance. *Formal attire reminders are on pg. 10 of your chorus handbook. Band Students: will need to wear black pants, their band shirt, with black shoes and socks. Music Makers: wear your band uniform, and plan to move from the band to the chorus for performance. What to Bring: band students will need their instrument and music. Chorus students need nothing for their performance but their formal attire since your music is memorized! What NOT to bring: Students should not bring electronics on this trip, especially in the performance space. Student should not chew gum after we leave the Hard Rock Café. How to act: All Students are reminded that this is a school trip. You are not only representatives of MCMS’s band and chorus, but also the entire school and community. Students will be expected to be on their best behavior. They should plan on listening to, and following directions the first time they are given. They should plan to respect all adults on the trip. They are expected to quietly listen to the other group perform and be model audience members. They are expected to ask adults for permission whenever they want to leave the group for bathroom privileges or to change clothes. They are expected to be the 3E’s when performing, and they are expected to have a ton of fun!
Band and Chorus Fieldtrip to the Capitol Wednesday, February 23, 2011 8:30am – 2:15pm 7:50am – Students report to their Homeroom to be counted present. You will be participating in your Reading Class today. 8:45am – BAND students report to the band room to begin gathering your music, instruments, and equipment to load the buses; Chorus students report to the Chorus Room to warm-up; Music Makers report to the Band Room to gather your instruments. 9:15am – Buses leave for Hard Rock Café 10:45a – We arrive at Hard Rock Café Procedures for Hard Rock Lunch: 1. You will need to line up outside the building in the order that you would like to be seated. Usually, you will be seated in groups of 4. 2. You will need to know what you want to order for lunch when you sit down. 3. You will be expected to remain seated at your table for the entire time we are at Hard Rock Café. Students will be dismissed in small groups to go to the gift shop or the bathroom to change clothes once everyone is finished eating. Please do not “roam” around the restaurant. 11-11:45a – Eat your yummy food. Chorus students will need to change clothes as soon as you finish eating. 12:00p – 1p – Perform in the atrium of the Capitol. 1p – restroom breaks and load buses 1:15p – return to MCMS 2:30p – arrive at MCMS. Band students help unload buses and return your music/instruments. Chorus students, change clothes and go to your 6B connections class for the rest of the day. Hard Rock Menu Choices Choose from 1-5 for your entrée. All lunches will include a Chocolate Chip Cookie and Coffee, Tea, or a Soft Drink. 1. Hard Rock Cheeseburger or Bacon Cheeseburger Served with seasoned fries 2. Grilled Chicken Sandwich Served with seasoned fries 3. Veggie Burger Served with seasoned fries 4. Bar-B-Que Pork Sandwich Served with seasoned fries 5. Chicken Caesar Salad
