GETTY IMAGES Charities included Drug Aid Year 9 pupils at YGG Llangynwyd have been creating presentations on charities they have chosen. Recently, they have given presentations during the class final. The groups with the best presentation from each class have progressed to the next round, where they will compete against other students in the year. The winners will receive £1000 for their charity. Charity focus: Drug Aid One group from 9 Mawrth chose the local charity Drug Aid, that helps people recover from drug and alcohol misuse. The group discovered that Drug Aid help 6,000 people a year to deal with these problems. They researched the charity before creating a presentation for their classmates. One group member claimed, “It was a frightening experience presenting in front of the class but we managed to raise awareness for our charity. We would like to wish the groups that have progressed to the next round good luck.” The school final takes place at the end of March.
