You are invited to join us on 12th May for the annual meeting of the London Old Girls’ Association. Once again the venue is the elegant and comfortable University Women’s Club in Mayfair, which has been much appreciated by those who have attended our meetings there in the past three years. The London ‘outpost’ of the BGS Old Girls’ Association was set up in 1936 as a way for Old Girls to meet others living and working in London and the South East. It has been going strong ever since and, even in this Facebook era, it is special to reconnect in person with others who have a shared experience of BGS. Last year more than 50 Old Girls attended, ranging in age from 18 to 80. So do come along to hear about BGS, chat and remember schooldays, over a relaxed buffet-style lunch. You will be welcome on your own or with friends. If you are in touch with former classmates, this is the ideal opportunity to meet them in central London. If you have never been to a London Old Girls' meeting, give it a try - it will be friendly, informal and fun. We are expecting BGSG Head Jo Anderson to join us, bringing news from Bury. If you have attended a meeting before you may notice that we have had to raise the price this year, to ensure that we cover the costs of food, drinks, service and equipment hire. We are only able to meet at such a prestigious venue through the generosity of one of our Old Girls who is a member of the Club. We are still encouraging younger alumni to come to meetings and be involved in the BGS Old Girls’ Association by charging students a much-subsidised rate. COST - £25 for buffet lunch of sandwiches, wraps, salad; including wine, soft drinks. Plus £5 annual subscription to the BGSOGA London Branch. Lunch is £5 for Old Girls who are currently full-time students (plus £5 subscription). VENUE DETAILS - The University Women's Club, 2 Audley Square, London W1K 1DB. Nearest tube stations are Green Park and Bond Street. This private members' club for graduate, professional women still has the atmosphere of the gracious family house it used to be. An Old Girl can give a tour for those who are interested, after our meeting.
