New Summer Community Service Opportunity: The Mid Ohio Foodbank Produce Market needs volunteers to help with the distribution of food boxes on the following dates: May 25th, June 8th and 22nd, July 13th and 27th and August 10th from 9:00 a.m. to noon. STUDENT ATHLETES: CHS will be having sports physicals for next year on Thursday, May 18th. New Physical forms are available in the main office. Don't forget to order your yearbook by May 23rd! The cost is $60.00. You can order through the link on the high school website or through Mrs. Todd in B101. Students: Every Friday is Hat Day for $1.00 -- sponsored by Student Council. Student Council members will be by the student entrance in the morning to take your $1 and stamp your hand. Attention Seniors: After you graduate, your Google School Account will be deleted on June 1. Stop in the guidance office if you would like information on downloading all of your files before it gets deleted. Students applying for College Credit Plus must see Ms. Eliason if they need any test scores sent to a college, including if they have taken the ACT a second time and their score has improved. Any students who need their Accuplacer score sent to OUZ for their College Credit Plus application, need to see Ms. Eliason to fill out a form in the Guidance Office. Students applying only to Zane State do not need to fill out this form. Attention Students: We will be offering summer classes through our online program, PEAK. Students will be given an account before summer break starts, and it will be the student's responsibility to complete their course(s) before school starts for the 2017-2018 school year. Stop in the Guidance Office if you are in danger of failing a class and would like to recover that credit over the summer. You must sign up before May 19. Applications are available for Safety Town at Central Elementary School. You can pick up an application in the Guidance Office. Mr. Hayes, Principal at North Elementary, needs some students to paint curbs and do some landscaping this summer. Contact Mr. Hayes at North Elementary, if you are interested: 740-435-1180. The Area Agency of Aging would like volunteers to help with the elderly. They have great opportunities to see the work force of nurses, as well as helping out those in need. Also, if you are 18 years or older, you can help with the Victims of Crime Assistance. If you need more information, come to guidance. The Guernsey County Dog Shelter is always in need of volunteers to help walk the dogs, clean crates, feed the dogs, etc. They are located at 62824 Bennett Ave, Cambridge. The local nursing homes are always in need of volunteers. Just visit the nursing home’s front desk and let them know you are interested in volunteering. The Department of Veterans Affairs is always in need of volunteers. They are located at 2146 Southgate Parkway, Cambridge. You can contact Julie Higgins at 1-800-358-8262 x1308 for more information. Breaking Free Therapeutic Riding Center in Norwich welcomes volunteers to help with prepping horses, side walking with students, helping with activities and barn chores.
