BACK TO BOLIVIA INTRODUCTION: This 2300AD (non-cannon) adventure is primarily set in Bolivia (refer to the 2300AD Earth/Cybertech source book section on Bolivia). The 2300AD Earth/Cybertech Guide describes the Bolivia of 2300AD era as the poorest, and least advanced in technology, of all of the nations of South America. Bolivia has a fairly new democratic government which is still is heavily influenced by the military. Bolivia is in the midst of a great amount of change, with the Bolivian government trying to use its wealth in natural recourses to drag the country into the technologically focused modern world of 2300AD. This adventure is intended to be a sequel to one of my previous adventures: ONCE UPON A TIME IN BOLIVIA but it can also be used as the beginning of a new campaign to bring together a new group of characters with troubleshooting, security or military backgrounds or with an established team of player characters. At the beginning of this adventure the PC team will be hired by a patron through a contact. The patron is an attorney, Clark Dominic, who claims to represent the wealthy Texan parents of Elizabeth Tripp, a young Tri-Vid actress who has had some exposure in the last year. This representative will claim that Tripp is being held against her will by a reclusive, very, very wealthy celebrity at his compound in Bolivia and that her parents want her rescued and returned to them. The money offered for the mission will be good, but one catch is that Dominic will have to accompany the team to Bolivia as he will control the expense account. Dominic has no field experience.

The real deal is that Dominic actually secretly represents Tripp’s agent, one Louis Claiborne of Paris France, one of the top media agents in the world. Claiborne had landed a major deal for Tripp in an upcoming Tri-Vid series, about the same time as Tripp became involved in a whirlwind romance with the multi-billionaire media star Rick Staples and cut off contact with Claiborne. Claiborne, who has Corsican underworld connections, employed some thugs to kidnap Tripp three weeks ago so that he could “talk some sense into her”, but they bungled the attempt. Staples and Tripp then fled to Staples’ reclusive retreat in Bolivia. Claiborne’s agents have traced the pair to Bolivia where Staples is rumored to have a secluded residence where he can escape the constant attention of the world, but Claiborne has no contacts in Bolivia. Clark Dominick has done some work for the Corsican underworld in the past, and has been hired by Claiborne to arrange to have Tripp abducted and transported to a large pleasure craft off of the Bolivian coast. The snatch needs to be accomplished within 3 weeks or the Tri-Vid deal will be broken. Claiborne hired Dominic as Dominic has a reputation with the Corsican Underworld for being able to get things done, no matter what it takes, and because Claiborne has had no previous contacts with Dominic. Claiborne has directed that no harm can come to Tripp during the operation. Dominic plans to hire a troubleshooter team to locate Tripp and conduct the snatch. He then plans to double-cross and eliminate the team in order to tie up any loose ends, and to avoid paying them their completion bonuses. ORGANIZATION: This adventure is divided up into a number of scenes. Some of these scenes will be completed in a specific order (the first two or three), but later in the adventure the order of the scenes will depend on the actions of the PC team. • SCENE ONE: Hiring on: The PC Team, thru an old contact, who has now formed his own troubleshooting coordination business will put the PC team in contact with Dominic and the PC team will be hired. • SCENE TWO: Back to Bolivia: The PC team will plan their operation and will get in touch with an old contact in Bolivia. • SCENE THREE: The village of Santa Clara: The PC team’s search for Rick Staple’s retreat will lead them to the area of the village of Santa Clara. • SCENE FOUR: Rick Stapes compound: Details concerning the Staples compound in the event that the PC team attempts a direct assault or snatch from the Staples compound. • SCENE FIVE: The revolutionaries: If the PC team is spending time in the forest in the area around the village of Santa Clara they are likely to encounter a small group of bandits who pretend to be anti-government rebels. • SCENE SIX: The trip to the city: If the PC team develops contacts in the village of Santa Clara, or gets a good overhear on surveillance, they may learn of a trip to the town of Tarija where a snatch attempt could be made. • SCENE SEVEN: Getting out of dodge: Once the PC team grabs Tripp they will have to get her out of Bolivia and to the yacht.

SCENE EIGHT: The double cross: When the team arrives at the yacht with Tripp they will have to deal with Dominic’s’ Corsican thugs.

SCENE ONE – (Day 0) Hiring On: The PCs or PC Team will be contacted by an old contact regarding a possible job. If the PC team completed the ONCE UPON A TIME IN BOLIVIA adventure Ding Rodriguez (see NPC description below) could be the contact. Ding Rodriguez has since left REBCO SAR and has started his own troubleshooting company. NOTE: If the PC team is able to check out the circumstances surrounding Ding Rodriguez’ departure from REBCO SAR they will learn that Rodriguez left REBCO under a cloud after contracting REBCO into a number operations that were not as “above board” as REBCO prefers. Rodriguez will set up a meeting between himself, the PC team and the prospective employer in Dallas, Texas for the next afternoon. Rodriguez will pay for the PC team’s transportation to Dallas. The meeting will take place at the Love Field Tilton Hotel, where Rodriguez will pay for lodging. When the team arrives they will be met at the airport by Ding Rodriguez who will have a vehicle waiting. Once the team and Ding are in the vehicle he will tell them that it is good to see them again and that he believes that the mission contract that he has obtained will be right up their alley. He will explain that he contacted them first for the mission due to their recent work in Bolivia and the contacts that they have there. If asked why he is no longer with REBCO Ding will say that it was time for him to get out on his own where he could work contracts a bit more lucrative than the “straight laced vanilla stuff” that REBCO will accept. Once at the Tilton Hotel Ding Rodriguez will let the PC team get settled into their rooms and will then ask them to meet with him and the prospective patron in a meeting room. When the PC team arrives Ding will introduce them to Clark Dominic (see NPC description below). Clark will request that the PC team sign non-disclosure agreements and then Clark will explain to the PC team that he is a Dallas Attorney who has been hired by the parents of the young Tri-Vid star Elizabeth Tripp. Clark said that Tripp’s parents believe that she is being held against her will by her obsessed media star boyfriend Rick Staples at a compound somewhere in Bolivia. Clark will explain that Tripp disappeared with Staples from Libreville three weeks ago. Clark says that he has a contract information specialist who was able to track Tripp and Staples to the airport in La Paz Bolivia where the trail went cold. It has previously been reported in the media that Staples, like a number of other ultra-rich media stars, maintain compounds in remote Bolivia in order to escape the eyes of their public from time to time. Clark then says that he contacted Crisis Control and Ding Rodriguez concerning help with this problem and that Ding recommended the PC team as they had recently done

some work in Bolivia and that they had contacts there that might be able to be brought to bear on this problem. Clark says that he wants to hire the PC team to rescue Tripp from the compound in Bolivia. He says that the team will be paid Lv. 1000 up front, Lv. 2000 per week for two to three weeks, plus expenses with a mission success bonus of Lv. 10,000 each. The Lv. 1000 and weekly pay amounts for the team have already been placed into an escrow account, a fact that Ding will confirm. Clark will add that it is imperative that Staples not be harmed during the rescue, as the fallout from harm coming to such a high profile media star is more than he wants to try to handle. Clark explains that he has borrowed a large pleasure hydrofoil yacht from a friend and client that they can use as a base of operations. The yacht is currently in port in Lima, Inca Republic. The yacht is quite large and has a full time crew. It is also equipped with a civilian light transport aircraft model capable of transporting six passengers. Clark says that if the team accepts the mission they will be responsible for finding Staples compound, rescuing Tripp and getting her to the yacht. Clark adds that he will be accompanying the team to be able to pay for any expenses. He adds that he has received survival and weapons training at “Gunsmoke” and that they should not worry, he can handle himself. Clark also says that if the team accepts the mission he will arrange for all of them to fly to Lima the next morning. If the team makes equipment requests Clark will say that the team needs to leave in the morning on a commercial flight and that they will not be able to transport much equipment with them. He also says that he assumed that the team would be able to use their contacts in Bolivia to obtain any necessary equipment there, where he will fund any necessary purchases. Clark has anticipated that the PC team may want to talk to Tripp’s parents in order to confirm that the deal is on the up and up. Clark will provide the PC team with Tripp’s parents video communicator number. The call will be intercepted by a info/computer specialist (read hacker – former Army info warrior) and the call will be answered by a computer generated image of Tripp’s parents created from media footage archives. Two live actors will provide the voices which will be synthesized to closely match those of Tripp’s parents, who are actually off planet on a vacation to Tirane, paid for by their daughter. SCENE TWO: Back in Bolivia The next morning (DAY 1) the team will board a supersonic flight from Dallas to Lima, Inca Republic where they will land, clear customs (after Dominic drops some heavy bribes to speed the process), and board a larger version of the civilian light transport (page 59 of the adventure’s guide) aircraft capable of transporting 6 passengers and two crew, which will transport them to the hydrofoil yacht “ We will always have Paris” with Dominic as the pilot. The name of the 50 meter long yacht is spelled out in French on the rear of the vessel. The yacht flies a French flag. Once the aircraft, flown by Clark

Dominic, lands on the rear raised deck of the yacht, the ship will move out at high speed for the coast of Bolivia. The PC team members will all be assigned separate, small but efficient and comfortable staterooms. The main salon will be designated as the team meeting and planning room. The crew of the yacht consists of 8 persons, all male. The crew members will try to limit their contact with the PC team as much as possible. If engaged in conversation in English they will have French accents. The crew members are actually low level members of the Corsican underworld and the yacht is owned by one of Clark Dominic’s Corsican criminal associates. There will be more details on the crew in Scene 8 below. By mid-morning of the next day (Day 2) the yacht will be anchored off of the coast of Bolivia, a part that used to belong to Chili, back when Bolivia was a land locked country. What happens next is largely up to the PC team. If the PC team completed ONCE UPON A TIME IN BOLIVIA they will have a good contact for obtaining information and equipment in Bolivia – Juan Escobedo (see NPC section below). If the PC team has not completed this previous adventure, the GM will probably have to come up with another contact or find a way to introduce Juan Escobedo as a contact. If the PC team does computers searches, ext. for information concerning Rick Staples’ compound in Bolivia they will come up empty. If the PC team contacts Juan Escobedo regarding the location of Rick Staples remote compound he will tell them that he will find out what he can and will get back to them. He will also tell them that the price for this information will probably be between Lv 500 and Lv 5000 depending on who he has to pay for it, plus his fee of course. Juan will be back in contact with the team four hours later. He will have learned the following information regarding Staples in Bolivia: • Staples compound is rumored to be located on a mountain-side bluff in the Bermejo river basin 10 km or so from the village of Santa Clara, which is located 20 km west of the town of Bermejo in the southern Tarija district of Bolivia. The Bermejo River is the border between Bolivia and Argentina. • Santa Clara has a population of about 500 people supporting local farms in the valley and a small tourist industry. There is one hotel in Santa Clara - the Casa De Santa Clara. • Bermejo does have a small commercial air strip primarily used by private aircraft and a tourist / air sight seeing operation. • The nearest city of any size is Tarija, which is 208 km north of Bermejo. • There is a growing tourist business in Bermejo and Tarija areas due to the Mediterranean like climate and the breathtaking landscape, and there are a number of hotels and sight seeing operations catering to tourists. A number of rich foreigners have compounds in this area. • Commercial satellite imagery of Staples compound and its exact location are not available. It is not uncommon for the ultra rich to pay the commercial satellite

imagery and mapping companies to erase their property from images and maps available to the public, and that is probably the case here. Juan will charge Lv 1500 for this information. If the PC team uses Juan to obtain equipment, he will be able to meet them anywhere in the country with the equipment that he is able to obtain with 12 hours notice for a base fee of Lv 1000. See the NPC section below regarding what equipment Juan can obtain. As far as weaponry and armor Juan can quickly obtain the following types of firearms and armor. These weapons are available on short notice at 25% above book price. • CASA-12 rifles (see below) • Rorttman MP-97K (see below) • Rorttman MP-97 (see below) • Stracher PM-17 (see below) • Stracher PM-19 (see below) • Ruger P-2247 (see below) • Ramirez-Abruggo BF-1 rifles (adventurers guide) • SG-77 rifles (adventurers guide) • Guiscard FC-70 rifles (adventurers guide) • Guiscard FC-68 rifles (adventurers guide) • Sonic Restraint pistols (adventurers guide) • Sonic Restraint carbines (adventurers guide) • Non-rigid armor vests (adventurers guide) • Non-rigid concealed armor vests (my alternate 2300AD combat rules) Juan can get his hands on more advanced weapons and armor but this will take 1-6 additional days. Cost for these items will be at 200% of book price.

SCENE 3: The village of Santa Clara

It is likely that the PC team will visit the village of Santa Clara, which is the closest settlement to the rumored location of the Staples Compound. The village of Santa Clara is located in a mountain valley on a stream that feeds into the Bermejo river. One dirt road provides access the town from the south. The road south from the village follows the Bermejo river to the town of Bermejo, 20 kilometers to the East. The village has a population of about 500, but the town also supports the farmers that farm the valley floor above and below the town. The town has the following facilities: • Church – This is a very old catholic church that serves the population of the entire valley. • School • Market – Buyers come from Bermejo to purchase the produce of the local farms at this market. The market also sells local craft items sold to tourists on day trips from Bermejo or staying at the hotel in the village. • Hotel – The Case De Santa Clara. This hotel and attached cantina are the only tourist facilities in the area. See below for more detail. • Cantinas – There are three cantinas in the village that are not connected to the hotel. The staff of these cantinas will be friendly to outsiders, but cater mostly to the local villagers and farmers from the valley and serve simple fair and a local beer. Just north of the village is a cattle ranch that is the residence of the local head-man, Raul Lozada-Hernandez. Raul controls local politics and his three henchmen are the only effective law enforcement in the valley. The nearest official police presence is in the town of Bermejo. Raul owns the tourist hotel in the village and two of the three separate

cantinas. He is fairly popular in the valley as he recently built the school and has hired two teachers to staff it. He has been able to do these things because he has gained income thru his support of the three foreigner compounds within 15-20 kilometers of the village. The hotel – Case de Santa Clara is new, only having been built 5 years ago. It is an adobe style two story building with fifteen guest rooms, and a cantina. Behind the hotel is a swimming pool with a bar and a horse stable. Services provided include live musicians every evening, meals and beverages available in the cantina and pool side, and guided horseback sight-seeing tours. These tours are on established trails and do not go near any of the three foreign compounds. These tours are guided by two of Raul LozadaHernandez’ cousins; Carlos and Fernando. The hotel is run by Raul Lozada-Hernandez’ brother Felix Lozada-Hernandez. There are normally 10-20 patrons at the hotel on any given evening. The tourists that stay at this hotel spend the days hiking, lounging by the pool, horseback riding, walking around the village and eating, drinking and dancing in the cantina at night. What follows is a list of some of the local important personalities likely to be encountered by the PCs: • Raul Lozada-Hernandez: Raul owns the only ranch of any size in the valley and also much of the town. Raul’s fortunes started to climb about 15 years ago when a British corporate executive built a reclusive get away compound on a mountainside north of the village. Raul was hired to support the building operation with man-power and services. Since then two more compounds have been built in the area and he supports all three, to include the Staples compound. Raul used the money he has made to increase his holdings in the valley, but is also very popular with much of the local population as he has greatly improved the village by building a hotel and bringing in a limited tourist industry which supplies jobs. He also built a school and he throws two festivals for the residents of the valley per year. He greatly enjoys the role of big-man in the valley and the respect that the people of the valley show him, but he is also fair and has been quite generous, although his standard of living if far higher by comparison to the other locals living in the valley. He will claim to know nothing of the foreign compounds in the area, as the services that he provides to them are his bread and butter. Raul supplies all three of the local compounds with cleaning staff, servants and local produce and supplies that he has brought in by truck and which he stores at a warehouse on his ranch. As these compounds are only accessible by aircraft and on foot or horseback, Raul’s workers go back and forth to the compounds on foot, and supplies are moved by donkey or mule. Raul stops in at the hotel most evenings and works the room as the owner, making sure everyone is happy and is having a good time. Raul avoids confrontation, that is what he has hired pistolaros for. • Carlos Soto-Hernandez the guide: Carlos and his brother Fernando are the local horseback tour guides. The work together on any tours. Both carry CASA-12 rifles when on horseback tours. The will tell any who ask that this is for the safety of the riders from mountain lions. Carlos and Fernando are friendly but are

• •

not all that bright. They know where the foreign compounds are, to include the Staples compound, but also know that they are not supposed to talk about them. Carlos and his brother speak Spanish and broken English and broken French. It is possible for members of the PC team to obtain information about the Staples compound from Carlos and Fernando in conversation with the following task: To obtain information from the guides about the Staples compound from the guides. Difficult: Interview. 20 minutes. Repeatable. Hazardous. Minor Mishap: The guide becomes closed mouthed and will not speak to the interviewer further. Major or Total Mishap: The guide becomes closed mouthed and will report the inquiries to Raul Lozada-Hernandez. See unscheduled events – Visitors in the Night below for details on what happens next. The brothers are also bribable. To successfully bribe the brothers is also a task: To obtain information from the guides about the Staples compound from the guides thru bribery. Difficult: Streetwise. 20 minutes, 100 lv. Hazardous. If Lv 1000 or more is offered this task is Routine. If successful the interviewer can learn the following information: 1. That the Staples compound is guarded by foreign female bodyguards who live in a house at the compound. 2. The compound is only accessible by aircraft or via a steep rocky trail. 3. The compound is located on the side of a forested mountain above a small side valley off of the west of the main valley of Santa Clara. The compound is located across the small valley from a high waterfall on the north side of the valley. 4. There have been extra visitors at the compound for about two weeks as extra cleaning girls and cooks were requested at that time, and they are still up on the mountain. A member of the extra staff is their sister. 5. Once per week over the last two weeks Staples, a gorgeous blonde woman and three of Staples’ bodyguards have arrived in the village via airplane, gone on a horse back ride and then had dinner and drinks and dancing in the hotel cantina before flying away again. Fernando Soto-Hernandez the guide: See Carlos Soto-Hernandez the guide above. Felix Lozada-Hernandez the hotel operator: Felix is the younger brother of the local headman, Raul Lozada-Hernandez. Felix runs the hotel for his brother and is very loyal to him, as his brother has greatly increased his standard of living and that of his family. Felix also enjoys the respect of the community due to his position at the right hand of this brother. Felix is short and thin and wears western clothing. He will not answer any questions regarding any of the foreign compounds and will act like he does not know that they exist. If anyone asks persistent questions and identifies the Staples compound by name, Felix will tell

his brother about the inquiries. If this happens Raul will send his gunmen in the middle of the night to confront the PC team. See the village events section below. EVENTS IN SANTA CLARA Scheduled Events: These events will take place unless something that the PC group does prevents them: DAY 4: A pack mule train will leave Santa Clara from the Lozada-Hernandez ranch and on to the Staples compound. DAY 5: Staples, Trip and four members of Staples security team will arrive behind the hotel in Staples’ civilian light transport plane at 2 pm. One of the security team will stay with the aircraft. The rest of the group will then go on a four hour guided horseback ride. When they return from the horseback ride, Staples and Tripp will freshen up in one of the hotel rooms and will then go to the cantina for an evening of eating drinking and dancing, returning to the aircraft and the Staples compound at 1am. See details of the Staples compound for details on the security staff. While at the cantina Staples and Tripp will mingle with other couples, particularly a British couple. The British couple will be raving about a jet-hopper tour that they went on a few days before outside of Tarija that included a flight up into the mountains to a few beautiful waterfalls where they stopped for a while and swam. Tripp will insist on going on one of these tours and Staples will call over Felix Lozada-Hernandez and ask for him to arrange one of these tours for the afternoon in two days (Day 7). If the PC team is conducting effective surveillance they may pick up on this information. DAY 7: Staples and Trip and four members of the Staples security team will fly to Tarija to go on a jet-hopper tour. This event is detailed in Scene 6. It is included here as the PC team may learn about the trip while in the village. DAY 10: Staples, Trip and four members of Staples security team will arrive behind the hotel in Staples’ tilt wing plane at 2 pm. One of the security team will stay with the aircraft. The rest of the group will then go on a four hour guided horseback ride. When they return from the horseback ride, Staples and Tripp will freshen up in one of the hotel rooms and will then go to the cantina for an evening of eating drinking and dancing, returning to the aircraft and the Staples compound at 11 pm. See details of the staples compound for details on the security staff. DAY 14: Staples and Tripp and all of the members of the permanent security team will fly in Staples plane to La Paz and from there they will board a commercial scram jet flight to Libreville. Unscheduled Events: These events can be used by the GM, based upon the actions of the PC team. NOSING AROUND: It is possible that the PC team may wish to spend time in the cantinas in town, using their streetwise skills to try and find out more information. Gathering information in this way is a task. TASK: To gather information in cantinas in the village of Santa Clara. Routine. Streetwise or interview. 4 hours and 10 lv. Hazardous. Repeatable.

If successful in the above task the character will learn one of the pieces of information below. 1. The Lozada family is the most powerful family in the valley. It is headed by Raul Lozada-Hernandez, who owns a ranch north of the village. Raul has grown rich by catering to a number of rich foreigners with estates in the mountains around the valley. 2. A famous media star owns one of the compounds near the valley. He has been town at least once per week over the last few weeks, accompanied by a beautiful blonde woman. They appear to be in love. They go horseback riding in the mountains and hang around in the hotel cantina. They always have serious looking foreign women looking out for them. They arrive in an airplane that lands in the field behind the hotel. 3. Be careful when outside of the town. An anti-government gorilla group makes its base in the valley but causes all of its trouble near Bermijo and Tariga. It is said that they are paid protection money by the rich foreigners in the area thru Raul Lozada-Hernandez to keep nosey outsiders away. 4. In the past nosey reporters and paparazzi have come to the village looking for rich foreigners. Raul Lozada-Hernandez’ does not like people who want to bother his rich friends and they are run out of town by Raul’s men. 5. I have a sister who used to work as a cleaning woman for Raul Lozada-Hernandez in the compounds of the rich foreigners around the valley. Raul falsely accused her of stealing and fired her. Roll 1d6, on a 1-4 this is accurate and the man will introduce the character to his sister who will tell the PC team member what she knows if effectively bribed. TASK: To obtain information from the ex-cleaning woman about the Staples compound thru bribery. Difficult: Streetwise. 20 minutes, 100 lv. Hazardous. If Lv 1000 or more is offered this task is Routine. Minor Mishap: The woman and her brother become closed mouthed and will not speak to the character further. Major or Total Mishap: The woman and her brother becomes closed mouthed and will report the inquiries to Raul LozadaHernandez. See visitors in the night below for details on what happens next. If successful the PC team can learn general details about the Staples compound (see Scene 4) and its location. An additional successful bribery task will convince the woman to guide the PC team to the Staples compound. On a 5-6 the man works for Raul Lozada-Hernandez and will be paid a bounty by Raul for identifying nosey people asking questions. See VISITORS IN THE NIGHT below. He will tell the person

questioning him that he will bring his sister to meet them the next day. Of course he never will. 6. I used to work for Raul Lozada-Hernandez working the mule trains that he uses to supply the compounds of the rich foreigners with what they need. He falsely accused me of stealing and fired me and had me beaten by his men. Roll 1D6. On a 1-4 the man is telling the truth. Bribing him is a hazardous task (see above). If successfully bribed the man can give general information about the Staples compound (see Scene 4) and if successfully bribed a second time will act as a guide and will lead the PC team to the rock mule path that leads up the mountain to the Staples compound. He will also tell them that when one of the foreign compounds is occupied, a mule or two will take up fresh supplies every two or three days from Raul Lozada-Hernandez’ ranch. On a 5-6 the man works for Raul Lozada-Hernandez and will be paid a bounty by Raul for identifying nosey people asking questions. See VISITORS IN THE NIGHT below. VISITORS IN THE NIGHT: Should Raul Lozada-Hernandez learn that the PC team is asking questions about his foreign friends he will assume that they are reporters or paparazzi. This is a problem that he has dealt with in the past. If the PC team eats or drinks in the hotel cantina their food or beverages will be drugged with a powerful sleeping agent. Once they pass out, Raul’s men will load them into a truck, strip them naked and drive them to the outskirts of Bermijo where they will left on the side of the road. If this fails Raul will send three of his pistolaros to the PC team’s rooms at the hotel who will be armed with clubs and Stracher PM-17 pistols. They are experienced thug, physically oriented NPCs. They will come in the middle of the night and will have a truck parked outside. They will attempt to take the PC team one room at a time, gagging them, tying them up and carrying them to the truck. They will then be driven out of town, beaten senseless, stripped naked and left along the road on the outskirts of Bermijo. If the PC team has a vehicle it will left by them on the side of the road on fire. If the PC team effectively resists Raul’s men without killing any of them, and stay in the village, a squad of 6 Bolivian National Police armed with Casa-12 rifles will arrive the next day to escort the PC team from the village. They will receive of course, a hefty bribe from Raul for taking this action. If the PC team kills or seriously wounds any of Raul’s men 12 Bolivian National Police will arrive in town within hours and will attempt to arrest or kill the PC team. In either case there will be one Experienced, physically oriented law enforcement NPC leader, and the others will be Green, physically oriented NPCs.

SCENE 4: The Staples Compound

The Staples compound on a cliff that is located on the side of a forested mountain above a small side valley off of the west side of the main valley of Santa Clara. This cliff is located 12 kilometers map distance from the village and about 1000 feet higher in elevation. The compound is located across the small valley from a high waterfall on the north side of the side valley. The Staples compound is accessible only from the air using VTOL aircraft or from a very steep mule trail. There are a number of buildings in the compound. The largest is the main house.

The main house is where Staples and Tripp stay, in the master bedroom. There is always one member of the security staff on duty outside of the house. The outside of the house is equipped with video surveillance cameras that have thermal and low light capability, and which are attached to motion sensors. These cameras cover the entire exterior of the house and are monitored from the guard house. Behind the house is a very large swimming pool, and hot tub and patio just off of the verandah. This is where Staples and Tripp normally spend much of the day. The house is also served by cooks and servant who live in the servant’s house when they are not working in the main house. The house is equipped with the highest quality furnishings and appointments and the study contains state of the art secure communications equipment. The garage of the house is used for storage and in here are also four sky-hopper jetpacks that are fueled and ready to go. The next building is the guard house.

This house is occupied my Staples security staff, which consists of two team members who live here year round, and 6 of Staples permanent security team and his head of security (9 total). One security team member will always be on duty in the dining room of the security house home which in this case is a security monitoring and communications room. Heavy weapons are also stored in this room, to include one WB Type 81 machinegun, and a guiscard Martel handheld anti-aircraft missile launcher with one re-load, and a Guiscard Blindicide-3 handheld anti-vehicle missile launcher with one re-load. The staterooms of the house are occupied by members of the security staff. All of the members of the security staff are female, except for one of the team that lives here year round, which is a male and female couple who occupy the master bedroom. Staples security chief and her second in command stay in the second and third bedrooms. The remaining 5 members of Staples traveling security staff stay in the garage which has been turned into a bunkhouse with three sets of bunk beds, and a small bathroom. As above, the dining room of the house has been converted into a security monitoring center and one member of the security team will man this post at all times when Staples is present at the compound. When he is away the sensors will be set on computer control and any sensor activation will alert team members here thru their communication systems. All members of the security team have field agent backgrounds and all have received training in personal protection. All of them have the following equipment on their person or available in their staterooms. The staff on duty will be armed with their FAM-90s and will be wearing their body armor. Three of them are also aircraft pilots. See the NPC section below for further details. • FAM-90 with 6 mags and 3 he launched grenades, 3 heap launched grenades and 3 smoke launched grenades. • Ruger P2270 handguns with 4 magazines.

Rorrtman MP-97K SMG with 6 magazines and disguised carrier. 2 hand smoke grenades. concealed inertial armor vests. Top of the line micro secure communications gear, mobile telephones and portacomps. Behind the house is a swimming pool and hot tub that is used by the security staff when they are not on duty. For more details concerning the security staff see the security section below, and the NPC section below. The next building is the servant’s residence.

Two house servants, an English couple who are members of a family that has been working for the Staples family for three generations, and their children (ages 6 and 7). This couples stays here semi-permanently and maintains the property when Staples is not at his retreat (which is normally about 50 weeks out of the year). When Staples is in town 6 additional house staff personnel are supplied by Raul. All of the house staff work at the direction of the English couple. These persons stay in the garage which has been converted into a bunk house with 4 sets of bunk beds along one wall, lockers and a few couches, chairs and an entertainment center. At late night the entire service staff will be in this house. When Staples and Tripp are up and around, or during daylight hours, most of the house staff will be busy cleaning, cooking or tending to landscaping chores. Behind the house is a swimming pool. If there is trouble in the complex all the people who stay here will do is try to get out of the line of fire. The last building at the compound is the aircraft hanger which houses Staples civilian light transport aircraft. Also in this building are eight more sky-hopper jetpacks which the English couple use to visit the village and to obtain other transportation from Raul when they wish to travel around Bolivia or take their vacation. The roof of the hanger is composed of solar panels like the rest of the buildings in the compound. There is also a fuel cracking station with a pipe that runs to a nearby stream. There is also a large bank of batteries that store power from the solar collectors for use in the compound. SECURITY AT THE STAPLES COMPOUND As mentioned earlier, there are normally a total of nine security personnel at the compound when Staples is there. When Staples is at the compound a minimum of two members of the security staff will be on duty at any one time. One of these staff members will be on a roving patrol outside of the main house and another will man the security station in the guard house. These team members will be wearing their concealed armor vests and will be armed with FAM 90 rifles, Ruger handguns and smoke grenades. During the day and evening two other members of the team will be asleep and the others will be lounging by the pool behind the guard house, or in the guard house. At late night only the two on duty will be awake. As mentioned earlier, the entire exterior of the main house is covered by video cameras keyed to motion detectors and with low light and thermal capability. There is also a radar set in operation on the roof of the security house. In addition, on the donkey trail that leads from the compound to the valley, at 100 meters, 500 meters and 1000 meters, are hidden cameras keyed to motion detectors, also with low light and thermal capability. If there is an attack on the compound, the guards on duty will attempt to get Staples and if possible, Tripp into the garage and into Sky-Hopper jet packs and one will also put on a Sky-Hopper to act as escort. They will then throw smoke grenades out of the garage door to cover their escape and Staples, Tripp and their escort will fly a pre-programmed flight path to Raul’s ranch, and after obtaining a range truck from Raul, on to the Tarija airport with Raul’s pistolaros acting as escorts in a separate range truck. Staples has been drilled

on this security plan and will head for the garage of the main house at the first sign of trouble and will try to drag Tripp along. If the PC team is detected on the mule trail, the security team will move Staples and Tripp to civilian light transport airplane, which will fly them to Argentina where they will board a flight to Liberville. Once an alarm is sounded the other security personnel will arm themselves as quickly as possible and meet the threat. If there is no warning they will only throw on their commo gear, a web harness of ammo and grab their FAM-90’s and LI goggles if it is dark. They will not take the time to put on body armor (if it is day time they are usually in swim suits when not on duty). The reaction time for the additional security team members will be 1 min or 10 combat turns if you are using 6 second combat turns. If the on-duty team members have not been able to extract Staples via the jet packs that will be the security team’s first priority. The team is well trained, well drilled and highly motivated. The last security team member out of the guard house will be armed with the hand held antiaircraft missile launcher (she will be 5 combat turns, or 30 seconds behind the others). SECURITY WHEN ON THE MOVE When Staples and Tripp travel to the places in Bolivia designated in this adventure, their security team will follow these procedures. One member of the security team will pilot Staples civilian light transport aircraft and will stay with the aircraft throughout the trip. This version of the civilian light transport is similar to the one found on page 59 of the 2300AD Adventurers Guide, but it is a luxury model capable of transporting a maximum of 8 passengers with fold away seating to crate more room when less than 8 passengers are being carried. Three other team members will stay with Staples for close security, to include the head of the security detail. Carried aboard the aircraft will be FAM-90s for all of the members of the team and the anti-vehicle missile launcher with the two re-loads. The security team member who stays with the aircraft will be wearing body armor. The close security team members will carry concealed weapons and will dress to fit into the environment. They will wear their tailored concealed inertial armor vests under their clothing if possible. The chief of the security detail will generally be armed with a handgun in a purse, and the second and third team members will have a Rorttman MP97K in oversized shoulder bags. They will also have a smoke grenades in their bags. If there is an attack, the team will try to first get Staples, and if possible Tripp, to the aircraft and to the compound, which of course will go to full alert, while further plans are made to remove Staples from the country, and two his apartment in Libreville as soon as possible. The security team will try not to crowd Staples and Tripp, sitting at the next table, ext. In fact they may be hard to detect as security unless the PC team were to see them all leave Staples aircraft at the same time. SCENE 5: THE REVOLUTIONARIES

As mentioned earlier there is a group of guerrillas that use the Santa Clara valley as their base of operations. This group consists of fifteen members and is based in an abandoned mine 6 kilometers north of the village of Santa Clara. Three members of the group are from Santa Clara and the group receives support from their family members. This group believes itself to be a cell of the E.I.O.D.B. - Empresas Internacionales Operando Desde Bolivia (International Corporations Out of Bolivia), and the cell’s leader, Mario Fernandez, was recruited and trained by E.I.O.D.B. members at the University of La Paz three years ago, but has had no contact with the larger E.I.O.D.B. organization since Fernandez last contact was killed during a botched bank robbery in Cochabomba two years ago. The group has carried out a few minor attacks against international corporate holdings in the area of Tarija in recent years, to include the kidnapping for ransom of a Canadian aid worker one year ago. For the most part though the group has been involved in banditry and robbery against Bolivians. The group conducts no operations in the Santa Clara valley. One year ago Raul Lozada-Hernandez’ men captured Mario Fernandez. Instead of turning Fernandez over to the national police, a deal was struck. In this deal, Fernandez and his group would be paid a monthly stipend by the owners of the foreign compound around the valley, thru Raul, if they would patrol the wilderness areas of the valley in order to detect and eliminate those who would disturb Raul’s rich friends. If the PC team spends time in the forest in the valley, off of the guided tour trails, they have a 10% chance per day of encountering a patrol from Fernandez’ group. The group will be led by one Experienced underworld NPC and will also have four green underworld NPCs. The team will have radio communications with the rest of their group and will be armed with CASA-12 rifles and machetes. The Guerillas will first try to capture the PC team and take them blindfolded to their base of operations and their leader, and then to Raul. If the encounter turns into a firefight, the Guerillas will attempt to retreat into the forest and track the party while the entire band can arrive for an attack in force. SCENE 6: THE TRIP TO THE CITY

As mentioned previously in Scene 3, Staples, Tripp and the traveling security team will fly from Staples compound to spend a day in Tarija on day 7. They will fly to the airport outside of the city to the east where a two rental vehicles will be waiting for them, arriving at 9 a.m. These will be luxury range truck type vehicles produced in Argentina. The will bring their own jet-packs which will be loaded into the range trucks. As usual

one member of the security team will stay with the aircraft. Two of the security staff will ride in the lead vehicle and the security chief, Staples and Tripp will ride in the second vehicle. From the airport they will drive through the city of 150,000 to the west edge of the city where the Sky-Hopper jet pack tours are offered. Here one of the security staff will stay with the range trucks while the security chief and another member of the security staff accompany Tripp and Staples on the tour. While the jet packs only carry enough fuel for one hour, the tour stops at a number of waterfalls and other points of interest for swimming and sight seeing and at one of these stops the tour company has set up a fueling station. The tour will last a total of three hours including stops. Staples staff has arranged for a private tour, so the party will consist only of the guide, Staples, Tripp and two members of Staples security team. After finishing the tour the party will get back into their vehicles and will travel to the Tilton Hotel in downtown Tarija, which is partially located in a re-furbished colonial building, with the additional parts of the hotel built to match the architecture of the original building. It is the finest hotel in the city. Staples staff has rented a suite of rooms at the hotel for the evening. After Tripp and Staples freshen up and take a nap they will go to the old part of the hotel where there is a fine steakhouse for dinner. After dinner they will go to the hotel night club for a time to dance and mingle with other tourists, which will cause a bit of a stir as many will recognize Staples and some will recognize Tripp as well, but most of the other guests at the hotel are also very wealthy, and some famous, and there will not be a chaotic scene. At about 11 p.m. Staples, Tripp and the security team will get into the range trucks and they will drive back to the airport to fly back to the Staples compound. In the event that the PC team causes some sort of trouble at the hotel, hotel security will respond. There are 3 hotel security specialists on duty at any one time. Due to the wealthy clientele of this hotel the security staff is of unusually high quality, and all of the security staff members are Veteran, Physically Oriented NPCs, wearing non-rigid vests and armed with Stracher PM-17s. (See the minor NPC section below). The armor and weapons are concealed beneath Tilton Hotel jackets. Two of the hotel security team members will be nearby while Staples and Tripp are in the hotel, as Staples security staff coordinated with them prior to their arrival. Should things get out of hand at the hotel or in the city, Bolivian Federal Police will respond in 1D6 minutes with 1D4 officers and an additional 1D4 officers every 1D6 minutes thereafter. One out of 4 of each of these officers will be experienced leaders and the rest will be green officers (see the minor NPC section below). SCENE 7: GETTING OUT OF DODGE Assuming that the PC team is able to snatch Tripp, they will then have to get her out of the country. How the PC team will attempt to do this is hard to predict as there are so many variables. The most likely scenario is that the team will try to get Tripp to the aircraft they arrived in at the airstrip outside of Bermijo, but they may also try to hijack Staples aircraft and use it.

Once in the PC team’s custody, Tripp will do everything in her power to: 1. Convince her captors that she was not being held against her will by Staples by telling them the following information: She is deeply in love with Staples. She was being protected by Staples after gunmen tried to kidnap her in Libreville two weeks before. She is having a disagreement with her agent, Louis Claiborne, who she recently learned is supposed to have underworld connections. 2. She will offer to pay the PC team triple what they are currently being paid to release her. 3. If the PC team tells Tripp that they talked to her parents before taking the mission, she will tell them that was impossible as they are in Tirane on vacation, where she sent them after Claiborne was harassing them. 4. She will try to escape at every opportunity. In the event that Tripp convinces the PC team of the truth it is possible that they may return her to Staples. If this is the case, and the PC team has not killed (wounded is OK) any of Staples staff, Staples will reward them and may hire the team to exact some sort of revenge upon Claiborne and Dominic, or perhaps other tasks in the future. If the PC team has killed any of Staples staff they will have created a mega-rich and influential enemy. If Staples can discover their identities, he will cause them as much trouble if he can in the future. If the PC team has killed any of Staples staff and is contacted by the PCs to arrange the return of Tripp, he will try to get them to return to his compound where the remainder of his security staff will attempt to ambush the team once Tripp is clear, perhaps by shooting down their aircraft with a missile as they leave the compound. SCENE EIGHT: THE DOUBLE CROSS If the PC team makes it back to the yacht with Tripp, after the aircraft lands and Tripp is secured in a locked stateroom, Clark Dominic will tell the PC team to go and freshen up and then to meet him in the main salon in an hour for a celebration of the successful completion of their mission. In the mean time the hydrofoil will take off a full speed headed west and north. Waiting in the salon will be great food and plenty of beer wine and spirits. At some point in the celebration Dominic will leave the room to use the head. At this point four of the crewmen will enter the salon with SG-77 rifles and will order the PC team members out onto the deck. If the PC team does not put up a fight, they will be told to jump off the side of the speeding hydrofoil to their likely deaths. If Dominic is not successful in herding the PC team into one place, he will attempt to have the crew (all but the one manning the helm will be available, leaving 7 underworld thugs) take them in their sleep in their staterooms. If the PC team is successful in not being thrown over the side the Administrator will have to play it by ear on what they do next. See scene seven for guidance if they attempt to return Tripp to Staples.

E.I.O.D.B. - Empresas Internacionales Operando Desde Bolivia (International Corporations Out of Bolivia). This small terrorist/guerrilla group conducted it’s first operation 15 years ago and has since been making regular small scale attacks against the holdings of international corporations operating in Bolivia. In recent years the focus of the group’s attacks has shifted from sabotage and bombings of corporate holdings, to include kidnapping of corporate workers for ransom. Four months ago four members of the group were killed when Bolivian National Police forces attempted the rescue of A Trillion-Corporation executive being held in Cochabomba, Bolivia. The rescue attempt also led to the death of the Trillion employee. E.I.O.D.B. receives widespread support from the population of Bolivia, many of whom fear that powerful international corporations will exploit the natural recourses of Bolivia for their own purposes, and that they will take control of the Bolivian civilian government. Jake’s Intelligence Monthly estimates that the group has 25-50 hard core operatives and many more facilitators. The group is believed to have originated approximately 16 years ago at the University of La Paz. Unsubstantiated rumors indicate that the group is supported with training and arms by some elements of the Bolivian military that resent the civilian Bolivian government letting some international corporations conduct limited operations in Bolivia. Other rumors indicate support of the E.I.O.D.B. by radical anti-Yankee elements of the Inca Republic, and by a radical splinter group of the North American Research League. E.I.O.D.B. members killed in the government rescue attempt referenced above were armed with surplus Argentine military small arms and showed a working knowledge of the use of explosives (public information). Rick Staples – Rick Staples is one of the top media stars in human space. Staples was born in British Tirane to parents that were also ultra-rich media stars. Staples is himself one of the ultra rich and is believed to own properties all over earth and Tirane, his ownership hidden by shell corporations that he owns. It is rumored that Staples uses a number of experimental and obscenely expensive gene therapy techniques to retain his youthful appearance. He is known to be 48 years of age, but does not look a day over 30. Rumors indicate that Staples treats the people that work for him very well, and that they are very loyal to him. A number of his pervious staff members have retired and are now wealthy themselves. Staples is also rumored to have a very effective security staff that is made up of attractive female operatives recruited from the protective services of many major nations and corporations. Over the years Staples has been rumored to be romantically involved with many of the most beautiful faces in the entertainment world. (public information)

Elizabeth Tripp – Tripp is one of the rising stars of the entertainment world, showing up on the Tri-Vid scene two years ago, having been discovered by Media Mogul Louis Claiborne after she came to Libreville seeking stardom after obtaining a degree in Drama in Texas. Since then she has appeared in six major productions and has co-stared in two. Her third major production, in which she co-starred with Rick Staples, is scheduled to be released in one month. Tripp is originally from a small town in Texas near Dallas and is proud of her Texan nationality. Tripp is rumored to be the most recent romantic interest of mega star Rick Staples. Big things are expected for Tripp’s entertainment career, with her fantastic combination of drop dead all natural good looks, acting talent and fantastic personality. She already has a large fan following. (public information) Louis Claiborne – Louis Claiborne is one of the top Media Moguls in human space and has been the discovering first agent for many of the biggest stars in the entertainment business. Claiborne, originally from Corsica, is known to be a supporter and acquaintance of the current Emperor of France. Claiborne is known to have a great deal of influence upon many of the major entertainment production companies. There have been some rumors that Claiborne has underworld connections and that many of his business practices are unconventional. It is rumored that much of his influence in the entertainment world comes from “knowing where the bodies are buried”. Claiborne’s entertainment agency owns a building in downtown Libreville and his apartment is rumored to take up the top three floors of this 20 story building. Claiborne is also believed to own other homes and vacation properties throughout the core, but he seldom leaves Libreville and is a well known work-a-holic. (public information) Clark Dominic – Clark Dominic holds a license to practice law in the nation of Texas and is owner of the small law firm Dominic and Associates. Early in his career Dominic served for a short time as an assistant district prosecutor in Dallas, Texas before moving into private practice. Dominic and Associates focus is upon civil litigation and the firm has represented a number of Texan and foreign business concerns in civil court in Texas. Dominic is a graduate of the University of Abaline and he received his law Degree from the University of Texas. (public information) Santa Clara, Bolivia – The village of Santa Clara is located in a mountain valley on a stream that feeds into the Bermejo river. One dirt road provides access the town from the south. The road south from the village follows the Bermejo river to the town of Bermejo, 20 kilometers to the East. The village has a population of about 500, but the town also supports the farmers that farm the valley floor above and below the town. There is a growing foreign tourism industry in this area of Bolivia that has a Mediterranean like climate, with rugged forested mountains, cut be streams and rivers with numerous waterfalls. The village of Santa Clara has a tourist hotel, The Casa De Santa Clara, which offers a cantina, swimming pool and guided hikes and horseback tours of the mountains around the village. This area of Bolivia, like the rest of the country has been plagued in recent years by low level terrorism carried out primarily by the E.I.O.D.B. organization. There is no information available concerning any specific acts of terrorism or banditry in

Santa Clara, but in recent years a number of persons, to include foreign nationals, have been robbed at gunpoint or kidnapped in the Bermejo and Tarija area, near Santa Clara, and for that reason tourists in this area are advised to be cautious and to use reputable local guides and transportation whenever possible. (public information) Tarija- capital of Tarija dept., Southern Bolivia. It was founded in 1574. Tarija lies in a fertile valley in the eastern watershed of the Andes. The Tarija Department of Bolivia borders Argentina. Lack of infrastructure has retarded commercial growth, but the rich soil and moderate climate have made Tarija famous for vineyards and orchards that grow olives, pears, peaches, and apples. It has a university. Tarija is a mid sized city in southern Bolivia that is only a few hours by ground transport from the Argentina border. It is surrounded by mountains and is located at about 1900 meters elevation which gives it a spring like climate most of the time. A sign on a road into town welcome travelers with the moto Hermanos Europeos (brother Europeans). This might have been true in the past, but currently the population seems to be a mixture of indios, mestizos, and blancos. Carnival is their largest annual fiesta and they celebrate it for a week and even the week before they have pre-Carnival parade rehearsals and festivities. Motor Vessel “We Will Always Have Paris”. This number is used if you are using my D20 2300AD alternate rules. It assumes that the skill used corresponds to the orientation of the character (mental or physical). If the NPC’s ability orientation is opposite then the total asset will be one level lower, which is the second number. DING (DOMINGO) RODRIGUEZ Crisis Control LTD: Owner and contract coordinator Experienced Administrator, mental oriented NPC Motives: 7 Hearts: Ding is loyal to the people that he hires for missions. 7 Spades: Ding seeks to excel and make his business grow and does his best in his professional endeavors to that end. He is however pushing the envelope in order to fulfill this goal. Role in Adventure: Initial contact with the PC team regarding the mission and possible future job contact for team.

Description: Ding is 38 years of age and dresses in fashionable, mid-quality, suits. He is medium height with a medium complexion with a prominent nose. He speaks English with a Spanish accent. Jack Diamonds: Dominic is a coward when it comes to physical danger against his own person. He thinks that he can talk his way out of anything but has never faced a serious physical threat since someone beat him up once in grade school. When he is confronted with physical danger he will panic. Role in Adventure: Dominic is the PC team’s employer for the mission. He plans on double-crossing them in the end. He also is a way for the GM to keep the PC team on track with the plot line, as Dominic insists on accompanying the team, and he holds the purse strings. Description: Clark is of medium height and average fit build with dark hair and eyes and a short, well groomed beard. Think of the smooth guy who gets killed in Die Hard after he gives up Bruce Willis’ identity to the terrorists in the office building. Clark is always well dressed and manicured. Dirt does not seem to stick to this guy. Weapons/equipment: High end porta-comp and communicator. Clark prefers a Colt P36E2 handgun (as this is the type he owns and has trained with). Other Information / Background: Clark paid to attend a well known private firearms training academy (The Gunsmoke Survival Training Academy outside of Dallas) where he obtained some firearms skills and did very well when confronted with targets that don’t shoot back. He greatly overestimates his own abilities. Clark also flies aircraft as a hobby and has his own small civilian light transport airplane. He has an aircraft pilot skill of 2. Juan’s ability to deal with people, coupled with his interest in making money has led to his being a successful troubleshooter in his native Bolivia. Juan has many contacts. Juan solves most problems by being able to obtain information through contacts, and by putting information into the

right ears to achieve his goals. Juan avoids violence when he can, but has been in a few gunfights, in which his primary goal was to get away. Role in Adventure: Juan serves as a conduit for the game-master to feed information and to solve problems for the PC team to keep the adventure moving along. Juan will also be a contact for the PC team to obtain equipment. Juan will be able to obtain on short notice surplus type weapons and other equipment. Most “state of the art” equipment is not available in Bolivia on short notice and would probably take longer than the length of the mission for Juan to import. What Juan can and cannot get his hands on, is of course up to the GM. Physical Description: Juan is in his late 30s and is of medium height and medium build with mixed European and Indian features with dark hair and eyes. He dresses for the occasion and when the PC team first meets him he will be in casual clothing. He tends to wear bright colored shirts. Weapons/equipment: Juan has a top end communicator and hand computer. He carries a concealed Stracher PM-19 pistol most of the time. Other Information / Background: As indicated above, Juan is extremely wired-in in Bolivia with many contacts in the government and in the civilian sector. He also has a great many people that owe him favors. Juan deals in information for a living and what he is willing to do for the PC team will be for a price, which of course Clark Dominic will have to pay. This could easily lead to friction between these two NPCs. Ace of Spades: Staples has a great amount of eloquence and physical presence and nearly always has a positive effect on those around him. Role in Adventure: Staples is the love interest and companion of the person that the PC team has been hired to kidnap. The PC team has been misled to believe that Staples is holding Tripp against her will, which is not the case. If the PC team harms Tripp or kills one of his staff they will have gained a powerful enemy if he can discover their identities. He could also become a great ally and patron if the PC team were to return Tripp to him. Physical Description: Staples is 6-2” with a slim muscular build. Staples has sandy blonde hair, cut short and blue eyes. He has about 2 weeks of beard. (Brad Pitt looking guy) He is actually 48 years of age, but due to various expensive advanced medical treatments he does not look a day over 30. When away from his compound he will wear dark glasses and a Guinness ball cap. Weapons/equipment: Staples usually carries a state of the art communicator/porta-comp combination. He often wears a concealed intertial vest when in public, but not in Bolivia where he feels relatively safe.

Other Information / Background: Staples was born on the British colony on Tirane. Both his father and mother were popular and wealthy media stars and this is the environment that Staples grew up in. Unlike many of the ultra rich, Staples takes care of the people who work for him and his employees are usually very loyal. He does have a weakness for attractive women and likes them around him, even if he has no personal romantic interest in them, such as the members of his security team, who were recruited for both ability and appearance. Role in Adventure: Tripp is the person that the PC team has been hired to kidnap. The PC team has been deceived into thinking that Tripp is being held against her will when the opposite is the case. Physical Description: 24 years of age, 5-7” tall, athletic but well shaped build, blonde hair, a real knock-out, (picture Jessica Simpson). Weapons/equipment: Always well dressed, good fashion sense. Other Information / Background: Tripp grew up on a ranch outside of a small town in Texas and became involved in acting in school, and obtained a degree in drama from the University of Texas. Her weapons skills and melee skills were learned as a child, from her father, who was a member of the Texas national guard, on top of being a rancher. After graduating from collage she moved to Libreville, the “Hollywood” of 2300AD. After getting a few advertisement jobs she was spotted by Louis Claiborne, one of the most prominent and prosperous media agents two years ago and was recruited by him for a five year contract. Tripp soon began getting parts in major media productions and four months ago co-starred with Staples in the Tri-Vid action production, One Night in Libreville. During this production Staples and Tripp began dating. After completing the production Staples invited Tripp to join him on a vacation to a for the ultra rich resort on Tirane. When Tripp told Claiborne about the vacation he forbid her from going as he had a number of lucrative deals for her coming up. When she told him that she was going anyway he attempted to have her forced into a car to be brought to her so he could do some convincing, but Staples security staff foiled this attempt. Based upon this Tripp fled with Staples to his compound in Bolivia. Since then thugs in the pay of Claiborne has paid intimidating visits to her parents and a number of her friends in an attempt to learn of her location so Tripp paid for her parents to go on a nice vacation to Tirane. Tripp, being aware of these contacts, is now very afraid of Claiborne. MINOR NON-PLAYER CHARACTERS
