•  Position yourself in the telephone booth, with your back to the phone and your are looking out like indicated on the score. •  Take off the headphones and hang them around your neck. •  Play Track 7 •  Listen and follow the instructions of the voice. Notes: The recorded text is loosely inspired by Bruce Nauman’s text ‘Body Pressure’ from 1974 and ‘Body Configurations’, by Vali Export. Section C reflects on Bruce Nauman’s notion on how a physical relation to a building can turn into an erotic experience. If this seems to make sense to you, interrupt this exercise immediately and proceed with the next track.

DANCE THE VENTILATOR You do not need headphones nor mp3-player for this track. It is nice to read and learn the score first.

A •  Walk one time slowly around the block from Vaskerelvsmauet through the first small passage to Vestre Torggaten, a bit on Vestre Torggaten and back through the second small passage to Vaskerelvsmauet until you are back where you began. •  Try to remember all sounding ventilators and air conditionings. •  Choose one of the sounding ventilators and go there. •  Stand under the ventilator, facing it for 2,5 minutes.

•  Perform the following positions at a slow pace. Hold each position for a while.

•  Squat down and slowly shake your head. •  Hold hands in front of your ears, keeping your fingers straight, palms facing towards the back. •  Whilst getting up, very slowly take your hands away from your head.

•  Walk another time slowly around the block and •  Hum a soft, low tone in search for resonates with the noise (whatever that means).

•  Once you are back to the starting point walk almost in slow motion out of the street back into the shopping zone again. •  Keep humming.

•  Headphones are half on: the ear directed away from the wall is covered with the earpiece, the other ear has the earpiece placed behind it and is directed towards the wall. No track is playing. •  Walk very closely along the wall in a slow and careful manner. Listen to the differences of the wall’s surface.

•  Put the headphones around your neck. •  Play Track 8 •  Walk with the right ear facing inwards towards the wall.

•  Headphones on. •  Play Track 9 •  Touch the wall with both hands at different heights. •  Put pressure on the wall, keep it for 20 seconds, then release the pressure. •  Repeat outing pressure on two new spots, and slowly increase the speed. Follow the recording. •  When the sound gets consistent (after 2:20), run your hands lightly along the wall, making soft and irregular curves and turns. •  Progressively slow down the movement until your hands discover each and every detail of the wall’s surface.
