Canvas Parent Portal Instructions
As MCCSC rolls out Canvas during this school year, students and parents will be able to view information posted by teachers including: assignments, course calendars, curriculum outlines, student submissions, and grades on specific assignments. Canvas now serves as the official gradebook and should be the place parents go to see overall academic performance in a class. In order to establish a Parent Portal Account in Canvas, visit the BHSN homepage: http://www.mccsc.edu/bloomingtonhsn 1. Then click on the Canvas Quicklink on the left hand side of the main page: 2. Click on the link in the upper right hand corner of the login screen where it says: “Parent of a Canvas user? Click here for an account.” 3. Fill out the form and agree to the terms of service and then click on start participating.
4. To observe additional students, select Settings from within the Account Icon in the Menu at the left of the screen once you are logged in. 5. Select Observing from the menu on the left. 6. Enter your additional student’s username and password, then click the blue + button. Note: You will need the Username and Password of each of your students in order to be able to establish an Observer Account.
