Congratulations to College Wood Elementary! U.S Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, announced yesterday that College Wood Elementary has been named a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School, designating them as one of the best schools in the nation. College Wood Elementary is one among only 342 schools selected (out of 130,000 schools) across the U.S. to receive this incredible honor. This is the second time that College Wood has been named a Blue Ribbon school, the last time was 32 years ago in 1985. Carmel Clay Schools has celebrated this honor 11 times since 1982, most recently with West Clay Elementary in 2016. To read the press release, please click here

The Hamilton County Kids Coat Drive Is Next Week! (October 2nd-6th) CCS is pleased to partner with Hamilton County Kids Coats to help keep kids in Hamilton County warm this winter. Donate your new or gently used (and washed) winter coats and accessories to your school next week, October 2nd-6th. Donations boxes are located at the entrances of all elementary schools, middle schools and high school. For more information, please go to www.kidscoats.org.

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Now through November 7th, all middle school and high school students are invited to the apply for the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards if they have made meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service within the past 12 months. The application is available at http://spirit.prudential.com and www.nassp.org/spirit. One student winner will be announced at each middle school, while four winning students will be announced at the high school. Winning students will have the opportunity to move onto the State competition and be eligible for an award of $1000 and an all-expense paid trip with a parent/guardian to Washington D.C.
