On March 8, 2017 the entire world community will once again celebrate the United Nations declaration of International Women's Day. Different women's organizations, non-government organizations, institutions and government agencies will join hands to promote the importance of women's rights advocacy. It will also be an opportune moment to further advance the campaign for Just and Lasting Peace and further highlight the distinct role of women in nation building.

On the other hand the promotion of Gender Equality is already included in the Collective Negotiation Agreement between DepEd NCR and ACT NCR. ARTICLE XI Section 4 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY. The DepEd-NCR supports the
programs and activities of the Department of Education to commemorate the International Women's Day every March 8. It is our humble and firm opinion that the QCPSTA should mark March 8 as a Red Letter Day considering that a great majority of our teachers are women.
