The Book of Proverbs proclaims: Open your mouth on behalf of the mute, and for the rights of the destitute; Open your mouth, judge justly, defend the needy and the poor! The text continues to describe the woman we celebrate today. Who can find a valiant woman, worthy of her worth? Her value is far beyond the value of jewels Her husband trusts her judgment; She brings him profit, not loss, all the days of her life. She secures her provisions from all over the world. She gets up from her bed while it is still night, and distributes food to everyone in her house, not forgetting anyone. She picks out a field for growing crops and has it planted. from her saved money, she buys and plants a vineyard with the best of available grape vines

PRAYER FOR THE DEPARTED “In Paradisum”
Calette Heidt Isaiah Irmen
In Paradisum (English: "Into Paradise") a Gregorian chant from the traditional Roman Catholic Latin funeral liturgy. It is chanted repeatedly as the body is being taken out of the church. Today, it is simply prayed in English by the celebrant. Today, we shall listen to it twice with a silent pause of two minutes in between. A chime sounds once for each decade of Helene’s earthly life, ending with a few moments of silent reflection and a final short chime for her last half decade of earthly life. English: May angels guide you and bring you into paradise: and may all the martyrs come forth to welcome you home; and may they lead you into the holy city, Jerusalem. May the angel chorus sing to welcome you, and like Lazarus, forgotten and poor, you shall have everlasting rest.
She girds herself with strength; she exerts her arms with vigor. She enjoys the profit from her dealings; her lamp is never extinguished at night. She reaches out her hands to the poor, and extends her arms to the needy She is not concerned for her household when it snows or is cold— all her charges are doubly clothed. Her husband is prominent at the city gates as he sits with the elders of the land. She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs at the days to come. She opens her mouth in wisdom; kindly instruction is on her tongue. She watches over* the affairs of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband, too, praises her: “Many are the women of proven worth, but this valiant woman has excelled all of them.” Charm is deceptive and beauty fleeting; the woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Acclaim her for the work of her hands, and let her deeds praise her at the city gates. Family and Friends with memory of our sister, Helene, truly a valiant woman. This is the word of the Lord … Response:
