Venturing gave me the opportunity to go outdoors and experience new activities with my best friends.” What is your favorite aspect of Venturing? “My favorite aspect of Venturing is how it is youth run and driven. It gives youth the opportunity to learn from their success and mistakes.” How has Venturing made an impact on you? “Venturing has made me passionate about being conservation driven. I like to call myself a steward of the land, all thanks to the Venturing program.” What’s your favorite activity you’ve done through Venturing? “My favorite activity I’ve done with Venturing was when I went snow camping with my crew for the first time. We backpacked with snowshoes and sleds, made a snow kitchen, went sledding, had a giant snowball fight, and had amazing food. Amazing times with amazing friends.”

President’s Corner Hey Central Region! I hope your summer is sizzlin’ with Venturing fun! I know that I’ve already had so many amazing experiences in New York, New Jersey, St. Louis and Dallas. One of the coolest parts of Venturing is meeting new people and making friends with so many amazing people from across the country. This past month, I had the opportunity to meet hundreds of Scouts and find a whole new set of friends in this program, and in July, I am excited to meet 30,000 Scouts from around the world at the World Scout Jamboree in Japan! Only in scouting can you meet so many people of different cultures, and it is amazing think that we can all have friends across the country. A lot of people shy away from meeting new people and making new friends, but this month, I want to challenge each of you to go outside of your comfort zone and talk to the new people you meet and make lifelong friends. Everyone comes from a different background and has a different story, and you can learn so much for everyone you meet. These people will change the person who you are and will help shape the life you will live, and you only regret your decision to not meet people. While you’re having fun this summer, complete this challenge! You’ll never know who you could meet until you meet them! Have a great summer leading the adventure!

Yours in Venturing,
