Adobe Digital Publishing Suite China Contributor Role Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS) enables publishers to provide their content to readers in the Peoples Republic of China (the Territory) once they have signed a “China Addendum” to their Digital Publishing Suite Service Order. Adobe requires publishers who use and access DPS have and will maintain the most current and valid General Administration of Press and Publication (“GAPP”) license for each and all publications delivered into the Territory, unless the publisher has affirmatively verified with qualified counsel in the Territory (and as demonstrated to Adobe’s satisfaction) that all Customer Content it will distribute into the Territory via the Services is legal in the Territory and does not and will not require a GAPP license or any other form of regulatory approval. Information regarding the China Addendum can be provided by your Adobe representative. Once the “China Amendment” is processed by Adobe, the Master Administrator will see new options when configuring user accounts on the DPS Dashboard: After you choose an account and click “Configure User”, you will see a “China Distribution” checkbox on the “Application Accounts” page. You will also see “China Contributor” added to the list under “Add Roles.”

The Master Admin has two choices for each delegate account: 1. Enable China Distribution: Decide if the account should have the ability to create applications and publish content into China. This is a setting that should only be enabled for the production accounts for a publication. The content published through this account is what will comply with the “China Addendum“ terms. 2. Add China Contributor Role: Decide if the account should be able to preview content in the Adobe Content Viewer on their tablet prior to publication. The China Contributor role is specifically to be used by accounts that are not allowed to publish, do not build apps, but receive folios shared via the Folio Producer from the application accounts to add content to and preview on the Adobe Content Viewer. Note. Publishers should only enable China Distribution for delegate production accounts. It is permitted to enable the China Role for production accounts so that a user can view the folios in this account through the Adobe Content Viewer. Publishers should NOT enable China Distribution for any account that does not comply with the “China Addendum“ terms.
