FY 15 Budget Discussion • Your fiscal analysts will determine a FY 15 budget forecast for your district – they will verify their figures with you. • Some districts will need to make adjustments to the FY 14 allocations. • Districts may submit the forecast sheet on the FY 15 Consolidated Application but it’s not required. 7/23/2014

FY 15 Budget Discussion • FY 15 forecasts will be used to request State Board of Education allocations at its August 20 meeting. • FY 15 forecasts must be determined no later than August 1, 2014. You may complete your FY 15 preliminary budgets in the Consolidated Application but please don’t press submit at this time. • Once FY 15 allocations are approved by the SBOE, you will submit an official budget in the Consolidated Application. 7/23/2014

FY 15 Budget Discussion • All merit-pay bonus plans have been approved. • All 26 districts must budget for merit-pay bonuses in FY 15. • Only the districts with No-Cost Extension approvals can budget for activities other than merit-pay bonuses. • Districts without a No-Cost Extension may not encumber funds (other than merit-pay) after the end of the September 23, 2014 grant period. 7/23/2014

FY 15 Budget Discussion • All districts must include an updated Scope of Work (SOW). • For districts without a No-Cost Extension, updated SOW will reflect the date all activities were completed. This is not applicable for merit-pay bonuses. • A copy of the approved merit-pay bonus plans and where applicable, No-Cost Extensions must be included on the “programs” tab in the Consolidated Application. 7/23/2014

FY 15 Budget Discussion • Completion Reports for FY 14 expenditures are due no later than October 30, 2014. • Budget amendments may be necessary after Completion Reports are closed.

Merit-Pay Bonuses • All bonuses paid should be paid in a lump sum no later than August 1, 2015. • GaDOE will provide districts with a ranked list of TEM and LEM ratings for teachers, principals, and assistant principals. • GaDOE will provide districts with the methodology used to determine the ranked list. 7/23/2014

Merit-Pay Bonuses • Districts must communicate to teachers and leaders no later than 2014-2015 pre-planning – the parameters which will allow them to earn a bonus, including the district’s flexibility plan. – the amount of the bonus.

Reminders • Quarterly Reports are due July 15th and October 15th • We still need you to update your dashboards • Check with your auditor/analyst if you need to amend your No-Cost Extension. • You may amend your Merit-Pay Bonus plan if you intend to add additional funds.

Reminders • There will be State and Federal Audits! • Keep all records related to this grant – programmatic and fiscal. • Complete an inventory of all equipment before personnel leaves. • Make sure you know and follow your local policy on pilferable items – digital cameras, smart phones, tablets, etc. 7/23/2014
