Sign up for college reps on Naviance (Family Connection)  Username (email address) + Password  Forgot Password? Click on “Forgot my Password”

Look at the list of college reps on Naviance. Get permission slip in Student Services.  You will not have access to the college rep unless you have the

permission slip!



  

Have teacher sign permission slip. Bring permission slip to session. You must bring a signed permission slip. Yellow slip not needed if coming from commons.

form in order for us to send your transcript.

Request recommendations if needed (student is responsible for following up with teacher to make sure letter was sent). 4. Pick up transcript request form (one for each college) in Student Services or online. 5. Make appointment with your counselor to review application. 6. Counselor sends application materials. 7. Check status on Naviance

Common Application If you are using the Common App everything goes through the Common App site electronically.  Request teachers/counselor recommendations electronically through the Common App site.  In the past students have not been able to see when the teacher/counselor have sent their part until you have actually submitted your application.  Ignore the Naviance blurb on Common App. We do not have them synced together.  All other applications will use Naviance.  FERPA rights 

Teacher Recommendations IF NEEDED  Fill out recommendation form found in Student Services  Ask teacher at least 2 weeks in advance  It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that the teacher has taken the necessary steps to upload AND send the recommendation to the college. 

Only get recs. if needed for application.  Ask only a couple of teachers who you had recently.  Give teachers at least two weeks.  Should include new info not on application.  Use rec. form (available in Student Services and online) so teachers can write a great letter for you! 
