From The CEO’s Desk Hello Readers! Wish you all a very happy & prosperous New year 2016. Talking about Chanakya Vidhyapeeth I would like to say that it has come up as a boon for the students of Bhuj city who aim high in the field of Commerce because we not only aim to excel in academics but also give corporate exposure to the students from the very first year. It is a matter of special pride that we are able to introduce many special features like Certificate Courses to support vocational skills, Co-curriculars for 360⁰ development of every student that enters the doorsteps of CV, Corporate shadowing, industrial visits, field work, formation of various Committees to develop & enhance leadership skills in our Ms. Mehwish Memon undergraduate programme. A perfect blend of Experienced & freshers as faculties fosters academic excellence. We aim at changing the definition of a commerce graduate. A graduate of CV will not be a simple B.Com. degree holder but will be an enthusiastic learner who had explored the field of knowledge in its length, breadth, and depth. In coming years, we endeavor to set a new trend in the field of education. Come on, let me take you to the journey of our first semester……..

An Interactive Seminar was organized by Chanakya Vidhyapeeth specially for providing guidance to the students of Commerce Stream. Our Guest Speaker and an industrialist Mr. Nanalal Satra highlighted on what kind of skill an industry demands in a graduate. Mr. Rehan Memon, Pioneer Aastha Study Centre discussed about the difference between professional courses & B.Com. Ms. Mehwish Memon focused on the vocational training for the undergraduate students.

BIZ QUIZ Warrior Friends organized a mind blowing quiz session filled with an array of interesting questions for the students. The quiz competition was held on Friday, 17th July. It was a nail biting competition between 8 teams testing each ones intellect in various fields ranging from Current affairs , Sports , Historical Events , Science encouraged by loud cheers and applauses from the audience. The “TINNITIUS GROUP” emerged victorious displaying speed and accuracy at answering the questions. The winning team comprising of 6 members and the runners up team were awarded with trophies.

In Your Shoes Corporate Shadowing A DAY IN THEIR SHOES Chanakya Vidhyapeeth surprised and rewarded the winners of Business Quiz Competition with the prestigious prize of Corporate Shadowing of Mr. Pankaj Mehta, the honorable trustee of Chanakya Academy and the eminent BJP Leader and Mr. Akshay Malhotra, the CEO of Indian Planetary Society with many achievements and honors to his name. Both the prominent personalities indulged our students by allowing them to spend an entire day in their shoes and know what it is to lead their lives and what a typical day in their life is like.

Fun at Freshers The first batch of Chanakya Vidhyapeeth was welcomed with a bash thrown in by the cultural committee on 10th August making an evening full of fun. The Fresher’s party thrown in by the college consisted of Fashion shows, Games and loads of prizes. The students along with teachers walked the ramp and danced their feet off. Ajay Tejwani was declared Mr. Fresher along with Jheel Sadhwani as Miss Fresher. Vaibhav Bhatt and Sheetal Jadeja were declared Mr. Dashing and Miss Beautiful respectively.

DEVA SHREE GANESHA DEVA By following our ritual of celebrating every event with enthusiasm , Chanakya Vidhyapeeth celebrated “GANESH CHATURTHI” in its campus. The idol of Ganeshji was made in an eco-friendly way. A very holy atmosphere was created in the campus for 3 days. College students did Aarti every evening followed by Raas Garba. Whole campus was filled with cheers of “GANAPATI BAPA MORYA URJA VARSHI LAUKARYA”

Corporate Exposure The first batch of B.Com set their first foot in the real monetary world. An Industrial visit to Samkhiyali’s companies Oreva and Everyday Herbal Care gifted a chance to the students to have a close look at the business functionings of two of the best companies in Samkhiyali . Both companies specialise in different products and at different levels, hence allowing our students to know for themselves what all goes into the success of a product. Special thanks to the Mr. Rajesh Shah, Owner-Everyday Herbal Care & Mr. Rana-Oreva Unit for their interactive corporate sessions with our young minds.

MOHE RANG DE BASANTI Paying our respect and tribute to our Nation on the occasion of the 68th Independence Day, an event of Wall Painting under the project named-”Maru Bhuj, Sundar Bhuj” was conducted by Chanakya Academy. Students with their respective teams had to paint the walls Opposite to Hamisar Lake , painting the city with joyous colors of Freedom. Smit Thakkar, team in-charge of Chanakya Vidhyapeeth commented , “A great opportunity to paint our hearts out on such a canvas.” Zaveri Preet, Vatsal Thacker, Miraj Thacker were the active team members. On 15th August, 2015 our college students celebrated Independence day with great pomp & enthusiasm. Vice Chairman Mr. Sandeep Doshi hoisted the flag followed by a classical dance performance by Heena Vilaytrani.

Rocking The Youth festival! Every year “K.S.K.V. Kachchh UNIVERSITY” organizes a youth fest for all the colleges of Kutch District showcasing a variety of events. Our Students participated in group folk dance, debate, elocution, rangoli making, poster making and singing competition with prompt and gaiety. Anjali Birhade stood 2nd in the poster making competition making Chanakya proud. C.E.O Mehwish Memon and Team In-charge Chandni Soni praised and congratulated the students for their enthusiastic approach.

Ultimate CookOut

Giving a chance to the budding chefs in our students, Chanakya Vidhyapeeth organized a two fold cooking competition to enhance their culinary skills. All the students participated with much enthusiasm, and the finale of the event unfolded at Ryan Resorts wherein three finalist groups battled it out for the title. The Angel Group, comprising of Rozina Vasaya, Sophia Padaniya, Kashmira Vegdani, Namrata Birhade and Anjali Birhade bagged the first prize by creating a lip smacking apple custard dessert for the finale.

G.S Elections The very first year of college & here our students got chance to be the leaders of their class. After passing through various tests & campaigns Jugal Meghnani & Nikita Joshi were elected as G.S. & Vice G.S. respectively.

Navratri – The Chanakya Way! Chanakya believes in celebrating every festival but with a twist. And so was it with Navratri. The Societal Committee of Chanakya Vidhyapeeth, along with their mentor Chandni Soni, celebrated Navratri this year by setting up a mobile food and medical camp on the road to Mata na Madh for the padyatris. The enthusiasm and cheer that our stu-

dents spread was one to behold.

Painting Colors Of Love To celebrate the auspicious festival of “BAKRI EID” , a competition of T-Shirt painting was held by the students and for the students. As unique as it sounds, the students had to paint a T-shirt conveying a message . Five teams participated . The team comprising Khushbu Soni, Sheetalba Jadeja, Zeel Sadhwani and Heena Pokar were declared winners who had depicted the message of ‘we are One’ followed by Ishwa Gadhecha and team as the runners-up. It was great fun to watch the students paint T-shirt with various thoughts of unity and integrity during the festival of love…

First foot in Banking Chanakya Vidhyapeeth provided an opportunity to gain a first hand experience at IDBI BANK where young minds get a chance to learn about their banking operations and EBanking…. For those seeking a career in the banking field. It was a golden chance to know the specialties of their banking field and scope in such a career. Students were guided by the Branch Head MR. MARKETING CONVENTION As a first of its kind gesture, Chanakya Vidhyapeeth provided a Marketing Certficate Course of 6 months for all its students, under the guidance of Training & Placement Officer Ms. Chandni Soni. The Marketing Convention was held at Chanakya Vidhyapeeth as the much awaited finale for the Marketing Certificate Course of Semester-I of the F.Y. B.Com students. Herein the best 10 groups battled it out to prove their mettle in the lucrative world of Marketing. Each group came up with innovative ideas of products and services, and brilliant marketing strategies to ensure being a sure hit with their potential customers. The variety and creativity of the ideas displayed by all the groups was commendable. In the finale, the team headed by Sheetal Jadeja and comprising of Pooja Shah, Ishwa Gadhecha, Jheel Sadhwani and Irtiza Khatri emerged victorious with their path-breaking product of digestable chewing gum namely ‘Chew Up’. The First Runners up were Jugal Meghnani, Jackil Mehta, Saahil Memon, Darpan Somaiya, Vaibhav Bhatt Kaushal Ramani, Jigar Thacker, Rajan Halai and Kapil RathodTeam with their luxurious salon and spa brand that would meet all the clientele grooming demands under one roof. The entire event was judged by Mrs. Chetna Joshi, Mrs. Kavita Barmeda & Ms. Mehwish Memon. This Marketing Convention, was just the first step of our students in the global marketing scenario, prepping them up for all that is to follow.
