COMBINED​ ​SCHOOL-BASED​ ​EDUCATIONAL​ ​PLANS AND​ ​ANNUAL​ ​REPORTS Background The​ ​district​ ​focus​ ​on​ ​championing​ ​students​ ​to​ ​success,​ ​aligns​ ​with​ ​the​ ​data​ ​gathering​ ​process that​ ​is​ ​expected​ ​of​ ​each​ ​school.​ ​Each​ ​school,​ ​upon​ ​examination​ ​of​ ​data​ ​and​ ​information pertaining​ ​to​ ​teaching​ ​and​ ​learning,​ ​can​ ​address​ ​emergent​ ​and​ ​ongoing​ ​student​ ​needs​ ​resulting in​ ​a​ ​model​ ​of​ ​continuous​ ​improvement. Each​ ​year​ ​principals​ ​are​ ​required​ ​to​ ​update​ ​their​ ​combined​ ​Annual​ ​Education​ ​Results​ ​Report (AERR)​ ​and​ ​Three-Year​ ​Education​ ​Plan​ ​(3YEP).​ ​Although​ ​this​ ​is​ ​a​ ​combined​ ​report,​ ​there​ ​are two​ ​separate​ ​documents.​ ​The​ ​3YEP​ ​is​ ​a​ ​plan​ ​that​ ​is​ ​developed​ ​collaboratively​ ​with​ ​staff​ ​and School​ ​Council​ ​each​ ​year​ ​and​ ​highlights​ ​the​ ​outcomes​ ​for​ ​each​ ​school.​ ​The​ ​AERR​ ​is​ ​the​ ​report on​ ​how​ ​the​ ​school​ ​met​ ​the​ ​outcomes​ ​from​ ​the​ ​previous​ ​year’s​ ​school​ ​plan.​ ​These​ ​plans​ ​are cyclical​ ​and​ ​fluid​ ​and​ ​are​ ​to​ ​be​ ​considered​ ​“living​ ​documents”. Procedures 1. Alberta​ ​Education​ ​requires​ ​all​ ​schools​ ​to​ ​maintain​ ​a​ ​three-year​ ​education​ ​plan​ ​that​ ​reflects provincial​ ​outcomes​ ​and​ ​aligns​ ​with​ ​the​ ​district’s​ ​three-year​ ​plan. 2. All​ ​components​ ​of​ ​the​ ​School​ ​Education​ ​Plan​ ​are​ ​to​ ​reflect​ ​the​ ​district​ ​vision​ ​statements which​ ​are​ ​aligned​ ​with​ ​the​ ​required​ ​provincial​ ​desired​ ​and​ ​specific​ ​outcomes. 2.1

The​ ​district​ ​vision​ ​statements​ ​are: ● Faith ● Relationships ● Excellence​ ​in​ ​Teaching​ ​and​ ​Learning

3. The​ ​school​ ​education​ ​plans​ ​are​ ​to​ ​reflect​ ​the​ ​adjustment​ ​of​ ​strategies​ ​and​ ​targets​ ​for​ ​each year. 4. The​ ​Annual​ ​Education​ ​Results​ ​Report​ ​(AERR)​ ​is​ ​the​ ​evaluation​ ​for​ ​all​ ​the​ ​outcomes identified​ ​in​ ​the​ ​school​ ​education​ ​plan.​ ​It​ ​is​ ​in​ ​the​ ​AERR​ ​that​ ​schools​ ​report​ ​their​ ​assessment of​ ​progress​ ​as​ ​it​ ​relates​ ​to​ ​the​ ​school’s​ ​past​ ​performance​ ​and​ ​achievement​ ​of​ ​targets. 4.1

The​ ​AERR​ ​appears​ ​first​ ​followed​ ​by​ ​the​ ​Three-Year​ ​Education​ ​Plan​ ​to​ ​reflect​ ​the cyclical​ ​planning​ ​process.​ ​There​ ​is​ ​to​ ​be​ ​a​ ​strong​ ​connection​ ​between​ ​the​ ​AERR​ ​and the​ ​School​ ​Education​ ​Plan.

5. Target​ ​setting​ ​means​ ​establishing​ ​outcomes​ ​that​ ​arise​ ​from​ ​the​ ​analysis​ ​of​ ​current measures​ ​and​ ​performance​ ​at​ ​the​ ​school​ ​and​ ​district​ ​level.

6. Each​ ​year​ ​the​ ​school​ ​education​ ​plan​ ​must​ ​be​ ​developed​ ​collaboratively​ ​in​ ​consultation​ ​with the​ ​staff​ ​and​ ​School​ ​Council. 7. The​ ​combined​ ​school-based​ ​AERR/3YEP​ ​is​ ​to​ ​be​ ​posted​ ​on​ ​each​ ​school’s​ ​website​ ​by mid-November​ ​each​ ​year. 8. The​ ​following​ ​are​ ​the​ ​provincial​ ​and​ ​district​ ​outcomes​ ​that​ ​must​ ​be​ ​included​ ​in​ ​the school-based​ ​AERR/3YEP: ● ​ ​Local​​ ​Outcome​ ​One:​ ​Catholicity​ ​is​ ​enhanced​ ​and​ ​supported​ ​within​ ​the​ ​District. ● Provincial​ ​Outcome​ ​One:​ ​Alberta’s​ ​students​ ​are​ ​successful. ● Provincial​ ​Outcome​ ​Two:​ ​The​ ​systemic​ ​education​ ​achievement​ ​gap​ ​between First​ ​Nations,​ ​Métis​ ​and​ ​Inuit​ ​students​ ​and​ ​all​ ​other​ ​students​ ​is​ ​eliminated. ● Provincial​ ​Outcome​ ​Three:​ ​Alberta’s​ ​education​ ​system​ ​is​ ​inclusive. ● Provincial​ ​Outcome​ ​Four:​ ​Alberta​ ​has​ ​excellent​ ​teachers,​ ​school​ ​and​ ​school authority​ ​leaders. ● Provincial​ ​Outcome​ ​Five:​ ​Alberta’s​ ​education​ ​system​ ​is​ ​well​ ​governed​ ​and managed. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​8.1​​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​Details​ ​are​ ​further​ ​outlined​ ​in​ ​the​ ​AERR/3YEP​ ​User​ ​Guide​ ​found​ ​on​ ​the​ ​District ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​website​ ​under​ ​Resources. ​ ​ ​ ​ ​ ​https://calgarycatholicschools.sharepoint.com/sites/dept/SitePages/Home.aspx Approval​ ​Date: September​ ​20,​ ​2017 Reference:
