 Shropshire Council has additional funds RINGFENCED to undertake a further procurement  BDUK – Balance of £11.38m = £6.68m  LEP Local Growth funds = £5.02m  Total available = £11.7m  + Savings and Take up Clawback  Soft market engagement has been undertaken with a range of alternative providers. All have indicated an interest.  European funds – to support further broadband coverage during 2015 – 2020. Projects being developed:  ERDF – to support business connections - £2.2m – Launch later this year  EAFRD – to address rural communities in final 5% areas - £1.3m – Launch 2017

Broadband Alternatives - Options Now FIBRE BROADBAND You can check current and planned availability of fibre broadband services in the Shropshire Council area at: http://connectingshropshire.co.uk/when-and-where/ If you discover that you cannot currently order a fibre service and your existing broadband speeds aren’t fast enough, the following alternative solutions offer an increase speeds until fibre broadband becomes available

4G MOBILE BROADBAND You may be able to get a 4G mobile broadband connection, which can provide download speeds averaging 15+mbps. You can check current availability of 4G mobile broadband services at the Ofcom mobile coverage checker: http://www.ofcom.org.uk/mobile-coverage.

Basic Broadband Subsidy Scheme Scheme Outline  Commitment to provide a basic level of broadband to all premises.  The Basic Broadband Subsidy Scheme provides support towards the cost of the installation of a broadband connection so that a basic broadband service can be purchased for a first year cost of no more than £400 (taking account of any up-front costs and the 12 month service charges). The scheme can also be used to access more expensive packages with higher speeds and/or greater monthly data allowances.  Up to £350 subsidy.  Before applying check alternatives:  Commercial Satellite solutions (hire equipment)  4G  Wireless
