Transportation Services Director
GENERAL DUTIES Operate as a technology facilitator, a paraprofessional position. Perform a variety of technical duties, including but not limited to the following; assist office staff, mechanics, and drivers in the installation and use of hardware and software. Perform system management, internet account management, computer maintenance, server backup and maintenance. Install new software and hardware and assist with the development of the Building Technology Plan. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS A. A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent B. Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively with students, parents and teachers C. Ability to work independently without supervision, and with minimum oral/written instructions D. Skilled in the use of computers E. Familiarity with a wide variety of computer hardware and software F. High energy level with the ability to channel the energy into productive, positive actions G. Knowledge of PC operating systems, including Windows 95,98, and 2000, Windows NT, and Microsoft Office software applications; virus checking software, and PC diagnostic software H. Work experience in a school setting I. Ability to effectively work and communicate with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures or backgrounds in English, Spanish, or other languages related to the job J. The ability to work harmoniously with others ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES A. Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment B. Configure and monitor workstations. This would include configuration, design, security, updates and troubleshooting, both hardware and software C. Experience in Local Area Network Maintenance and monitoring, Ability to monitor the local area network including utilization, monitoring, network backups, and server monitoring that would include monitoring security. Ability to install network applications D. Troubleshoot and correct operating system and standard application software problems E. Effectively coordinate training for staff, site planning and resource planning F. Coordinate site activities within a wide area network and enterprise environment G. Work with information services staff to solve advanced problems H. Responsible for routing school buses from students’ homes to various school sites Data Technician - Transportation

Perform computer input and retrieval including student data, routes, and correspondence utilizing the transportation software program Operate a variety of office machines including, but not limited to, typewriter, copier, calculator, computer, scanner, plotter, tally, palm devices, digital camera and other related equipment Responsible for reinstalling and maintaining updates to the transportation software system Assure the updating of student information in the transportation software system including address correction and routing assignments Work closely with Support Services to assure accuracy of student information downloads Update map in software system as streets and addresses are added Trouble shoot problems within the transportation software system Update bus routes Provide information about bus routes and demographics as needed Train other users and provide support as required in District Provide answers to inquiries regarding school attendance boundaries Responsible for Sonitrol and building security at Transportation Network with outside agencies sharing and integrating GIS data and information as it applies to routing software Cultivate and model a respectful working and learning environment
