REGISTRATION ARRANGEMENTS The “Online Registration Guide” which contains information relating to the online registration process and contact details is available online at uconnect.uj.ac.za and selects the Registration icon. PAYMENTS All students, including students whose fees are paid by sponsors or employers, have to pay the following minimum amounts prior to or on the date of academic registration. Should payments be made direct to the bank account of the University, the deposit must be made into the UJ’s bank account at least FIVE (5) WORKING DAYS PRIOR to your registration date. Payments made via the web (student portal) with a credit / cheque card can be made during the online registration process: Full-time/part-time: Tuition fees: (All students not residing in the residences) Residence students’ fees: (Minimum fee for residence and tuition fees)

Please keep proof of payments for at least two (2) years. No refunds will be approved without it. Those who do not comply with these requirements will not be able to complete the registration process until the payment reflects on the student account. Students will not be unblocked with a bank deposit slip if they did not make the payment 5 working days prior to registration.
It is also advisable that students who made payment in time bring a copy of the deposit slip with them on the day of registration. 3.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS The Division for Internationalisation is the first port of call for all international students before proceeding to registration. This is the place where students are welcomed to the University and are cleared for medical aid, fees and study permit compliance prior to registration. It is important to note that 30% of the international student’s tuition and UJ residence fees are payable before registration. POST GRADUATE REGISTRATION All post graduate students have to renew their registration at the beginning of each year of study. This rule also applies to students whose residence is only applicable from the second semester and only registered at the beginning of the second semester of the previous year for the first time. All returning students will be required to have completed progress reporting as required by the Head of Faculty Administration. No student will be re-registered without meeting this requirement. . They should also submit a completed and signed student/supervisor agreement form. Please note that the maximum period of registration for a master’s programme is two years full-time or three years part-time. The maximum period for the registration of a doctoral programme is four years. Renewal of further registration may be granted by the Executive Dean. Students that have exceeded the maximum registration period will not be allowed to re-register without this approval and must apply in writing for the renewal of their registration. Post graduate students registering for a research programme for the first time, will be blocked from registering if he/she has not submitted an initial pre-registration research proposal and a completed electronic document for finalisation and approval of a supervisor and study field to the Faculty Office. If your allocated supervisor cannot assist you with the form, please contact Ms D Kanyi at
[email protected] to send you the necessary form. Students who graduated at a university other than the University of Johannesburg have to submit their degree certificate, academic record, ID and Status application form for the finalisation of their degree status at registration. Students from a non-South African university need to submit SAQA certification.

LECTURED/COURSEWORK MASTERS IN ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT DEGREE PROGRAMME th
Lectured MEng / MPhil degree students may register either online from the 12 of January 2015 or at th st the Dean’s Office at B1Lab, Auckland Park Kingsway campus from 12 of January 2015 until 30 of January 2015. Only students who are registered for a programme/module are allowed to attend lectures. 6.
RESEARCH MASTERS AND DOCTORAL DEGREE PROGRAMMES Research MEng / MPhil / MTech and DIng / DPhil / DTech degree students may register during the th th period 12 of January 2015 until the 6 of March 2015.
