Description of Position This position is one of few leadership of Dell’s Greater China marketing organization, and will be responsible for leading the Greater China Commercial Central Marketing Team and GC Commercial Digital Marketing Team to drive all the marketing campaigns’ strategy and development for EUC (End User Computing) BU and ESG (Enterprise Solution Group) BU business in Greater China region. The detailed scope includes: 1> Lead Greater China EUC & ESG marketing teams to align quarterly and annual marketing campaign/program strategy with Greater China BU business leaders (EUC & ESG) to ensure marketing enable EUC & ESG business in Greater China commercial markets (eg. deliver quarterly P&L and enable long term business transformation) 2> Besides the strong in country BU alignment, this role also needs to lead Greater China EUC & ESG marketing teams & Greater China Digital marketing teams to collaborate with APJ and Global counter parts closely to develop quarterly country marketing campaign & content/messaging roadmap, and drive EUC & ESG BU’s key global campaign’s in-country implementation 3> Manage central EUC & ESG BU marketing budget and responsible of quarterly & annual investment plan to maximize ROI by pursuing best balance between short term and long term strategic focus (eg. demand gen vs. branding, offline vs. online, internal enablement vs. external demand gen, product solution centric vs. customer/vertical centric) 4> Be key pioneer to drive long term marketing innovation & transformation:
Innovate Dell’s enterprise solution branding initiatives in Greater China by driving strong 360 messaging campaigns (esp. social & PR) Integrate and innovate Digital / Social / Mobile platforms in Greater China region, and develop best-in-class content assets to enable the business Champion a long term strategic project, which aims to fully adapt latest modern marketing technologies in the industry and transform Dell’s GC marketing org into world-class innovative marketing org in big data era.
5> This role will need highest degree of collaboration with two peer teams in Greater China Commercial Marketing for day to day operation:
GC Dell-led segment marketing team: sales interface for Dell direct-led business, responsible for all sales’ marketing interlock and most marketing program implementation (eg. central team’s BU program or self-initiate across-BU initiatives) GC Channel-led segment marketing team: same as Dell-led marketing team, it acts as sales interface for channel business, responsible for all channel marketing program implementation (eg. central team’s BU program or self-initiate across-BU initiatives) Once the campaign/content assets being develop, the central marketing team will need to execute most their BU programs thru above two peers teams
6> This people manager role will manage >15 direct reports (inclusive of permanent and temp h/cs) across China:
4 major functions: GC EUC Campaign Marketing, GC ESG Campaign Marketing, Greater China Digital & Greater China Commercial CRM Planning >50% would be remote, with highly diversified experience (avg. >10Yrs tenure in the industry or agencies) Ongoing team development would be key for longer term success
7> Key accountability and KPI of this role will include:
Marketing investment ROI (marketing pipeline$, Sales ready leads, Sales follow up, etc), Branding performance in Greater China market of EUC and ESG BU Digital KPI People Leadership (Dell’s people manager annual score) BU business performance (quarterly financials, share gain performance)
8> Others:
GC Marketing’s point of contact of in-country BU leadership, APJ/Global BU marketing BU budget & marketing planning owner & handle routine review with senior executives Owner of BU brand performance in GC market
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or higher, >15Years marketing experience & >10yrs in management position (preferable in IT industry), with proven track record for driving result in highly dynamic business environment >8Yrs people management experience. Solid track record in managing diversified & dynamic team is highly preferable Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Chinese and English at all levels of within the organization and externally Strong organization skill to develop new and foster existing relationships and partnerships. Highest team-work spirit and with win-win mind set Excellent business acumen and proven ability to influence peers or senior executives to embrace new directions or ideas. Must be able to work within a cross functional and global organization. Digital marketing experience is highly preferable
