Peotone School District 207-U Cafeteria Newsletter 2017-2018 Dear Parents, In this newsletter we have tried to answer many of your questions concerning the hot lunch program and the student(s) lunch account associated with the program. Our cafeteria will be serving school meals that meet tough new federal nutrition standards, ensuring that meals are healthy, well-balanced and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school. 1) Cafeteria meals are $2.60. Each meal consists of five daily components which are meat/meat substitute, fruit, vegetables, bread, and milk. Additional milk is $.30. 2) If a student would like to purchase just milk the $.30 will be deducted from their lunch account. 3) If your student is on free or reduced lunches, he/she will receive one free, or one reduced meal. Your student will be charged accordingly for milk, if they do not purchase hot lunch, but would like milk. 4) Students with a -$7.50 balance in their lunch account will not be able to make any purchases until money has been added to their account. To deposit money into a student’s lunch account you can do the following: a. Pay online with a credit card - please go to the district website at peotoneschools.org. At the left top corner of the page, click on “Pay Fees”. Then, at the top left a list of all the schools will appear. Click on the school that your student attends. And follow the instructions for payment for your student’s lunch account. Each student has their own account so the process needs to be repeated for each student. You may also monitor their daily lunch transactions here. b. Send in cash or check - Made payable to “Peotone School District 207-U” in an envelope with the student’s name (first and last) grade, and teacher’s name printed on it. c.

Lunch Payments - We are asking that you do not make any lunch payments for your student(s) between June 1 and August 10, 2017.

5) Please call the District Office at 708-258-0991, ext. 113 after August 11, 2017 for information if you feel you may qualify for free or reduced lunches.
