Deltronic Labs Ticket Eater® with Printer Model DL-9000 Rev. 2B5 & 2C6 Operators Manual The Deltronic Labs Ticket Eater® assists a game room operator in the redemption aspect of his business. Collection and destruction of tickets, along with the disbursement of prizes, with a reasonable amount of control has always been a tedious task. The Ticket Eater® counts and destroys tickets, and prints a receipt to aid in control. This is the manual for Rev. 2B5 and Rev. 2C6. Rev. 2B5 uses a dot matrix printer. Rev. 2C6 uses a thermal printer.
Operation The Ticket Eater® has 2 switches on the lid. The black switch (on the left) is the PRINT switch. The red switch (on the right) is the RESET switch. A customer gives the operator tickets to redeem. The operator inserts the tickets into the Ticket Eater® and waits while it accurately counts and destroys the tickets. The destroyed tickets drop into a trash bin below the Ticket Eater. (Use of a LARGE bin is recommended.) To print a receipt and reset the count, the operator presses the black PRINT button. To reset the count without printing a receipt, he presses the red RESET button. Be careful to use the special printer cable supplied with the DL-9000. A standard printer cable will not work. The printed receipt includes: 1. Date. 2. Time. 3. Serial number (optional). 4. Quantity of tickets counted/destroyed. 5. Optional message (up to 4 lines with 37 characters per line) 6. Optional bar code (Rev. 2C6 only) . TYPICAL RECEIPT DATE: 8 / 22 / 2010 Monday TIME: 12:25:22 pm SERIAL #: 1230005 TICKETS COUNTED: *132* Thank you for Playing at DELTRONIC LABS, INC. OPTIONAL BARCODE

The bar code contains the machine number, a date/serial code, the number of ticket count, and an optional checksum. The machine number is 3 digits without the checksum, 2 digits with the checksum. The optional message is programmed at the factory. To change the message, please call Deltronic Labs. If the operator needs a copy of the receipt, then he should use carbonless copy paper (Rev. 2B5 only). The ticket eater has an internal audit counter with an LCD display. The audit counter is never reset.
Cheat Detection The Ticket Eater® helps deter cheating in the following manner: 1. It checks the speed of the tickets passing through it. A slow speed (as when someone is starting to pull the tickets backwards) indicates cheating. The Ticket Eater responds by shutting off the motor for 1 second. To disable this cheat detection set option 10 to 0. (See Setup Mode for instructions on setting options.) 2. It detects tickets being pulled backwards and subtracts one ticket value from the count each time the condition is detected. If option 11 is set to 1 it will also shut the motor off for 10 seconds. (See Setup Mode for instructions on setting options.)
Setup Mode To enter the setup mode: 1. Unlock and lift the lid. 2. Near the upper front corner of the logic board is a small pushbutton switch labeled SW1. While pressing and holding SW1, press and hold the door interlock safety switch to turn the unit on. 3. Release both switches. 4. Close the lid. The Ticket Eater will be in setup mode, and the display will read '99 0', with the '0' flashing. In setup mode pressing the black PRINT button increases the value of the flashing number, pressing the red RESET button decreases it, and pressing both buttons together accepts a value and proceeds to the next step. The setup items are arranged into 3 groups. When selecting a group the display shows “99 x” (x is the group number – 0, 1, or 2). To select a group press the red or black button to change the flashing digit to the group number and then press both buttons together to make the selection. Group # 0 1 2

The ticket eater measures the time it takes for the ticket notch to pass through it. It does this to detect that someone is pulling back the tickets (cheating). This time value is set to 16 ms at the factory. A value of less than 16 is not recommended. For systems running on 50 Hz power the recommended value is 19.
