• The issue of introducing RTI stamps h~s been earlier recommended by this Commission to the DOPT. However, a Committee constituted to consider the issue had advised against the introduction of RTI stamps as being neither legally nor financially feasible. However, recently it is learnt from various newspapers reports (Rashtriya Sahara, New Delhi 31.05.16, Hari Bhoomi, New Delhi 31.05.16, Dainlk Jagran, New Deihl, 31.05.16, Pioneer Hindi, New Delhi, 31.05.16, Jansatta Hindi, New Delhi, 31.05.16) that the postal department has constituted a Committee to explore feasibility of payment of RTI fees through special stamps. 2. This matter was again considered by the Chief Information Commissioner and it has been decided that introduction of special stamps for payment of RTI fees may be recommended for reconsideration by DOPT. The matter is therefore again submitted for consideration favourably. 3.
This Issues with the approval of Chief Information Commissioner. Yours faithfully,
