Dear Parents and Guardians, We would like to remind you about our Birthday Book Program here in the Smith Elementary School Library. This is a great way for parents, grandparents, and friends to honor a special student by donating a book to the library on his/her birthday. The donation for a birthday book is $12.00. We have a special selection of new books in the library from which you or the child may choose. A bookplate including the child’s name and birthday will be permanently placed inside the front cover of the book, and a photograph of the child will be displayed on the Birthday Board in the library. The honored child will be the first to check out the book from the library and may enjoy it for up to two weeks before returning it so that other children may then check it out. This is a unique and personal way to say “Happy Birthday” and, at the same time, add wonderful books to our library. Please detach and return the form below at least a week prior to your child’s birthday so we can have the book ready for that special day. Books may be donated in honor of children with summer birthdays at any time during the school year. Thank you for your support!
