Testing We will begin our state testing here at Northeast in April. The schedule is here, and is also available on our website. All grade levels will be tested in language arts and math, and 5th grade will also be tested in science. We are asking all students have their own set of ear buds for each day they are testing. We ask that children eat a healthy breakfast, get to bed on time, and relax. Parents, we ask that you please make sure your children are at school during their testing times, and do not schedule appointments during the testing window. Trying to test 350+ students is a challenge and having them test with their classmates is always best. Thank You! Please see the Northeast Spring Testing Letter here for more information.
Hoops for Heart Hoops for Heart is an amazing tradition we have here at Northeast and we’re excited that it’s THAT TIME OF YEAR again! Did you know the Heart is the strongest and most important muscle in your body? Your students are learning that if you exercise and eat healthy you can reduce the risk of heart disease and high blood pressure! We have a BIG goal this year of raising $9,000 for the American Heart Association, and we need YOUR HELP to reach it! I know we can do it with your help! Keep up the GREAT work heart heroes! Want to quickly DOUBLE your donation??? You can do so by asking your employer if there is an Employee Matching Gift program, or you can search for your company at www.matchinggifts.com/aha. If your employer has a Matching Gift program, just complete your employer's Matching Gift Form and turn it in with your child’s Hoops for Heart envelope. Mr. Janssen will turn it in with my donations. Here’s a quick checklist to keep you going Northeast STRONG! 1. CUSTOMIZE ONLINE- Log in at www.heart.org/hoops and customize your child’s personal webpage with photos and a story - you can even add a video! 2. SPREAD THE WORD – Help your child take our heart-healthy pledge by sending 10 e-mails or taking the Zoo Crew E-Card Challenge, sharing your healthy challenge and asking for support from friends and family. When you log in, look for "Step 2". 3. GET SOCIAL – Help your child by sharing his/her webpage and healthy challenge on Facebook, Twitter, or even at work! We’re so proud of our school community for making such a big difference! Thank you for helping in the fight against cardiovascular disease and stroke, while helping us get some money back to update our PE equipment!
