Postgraduate Certificate in 21st Century Teaching and Learning With the Schools of Education and Computer Science & Statistics, Bridge21 and the Trinity Access Programmes (TAP)
Applications are now open for the PG Cert in 21st Century Teaching & Learning commencing in September 2016. Through creative teamwork, this Level 9 qualification explores how 21st century learning can be integrated within the classroom. In addition to the core module on ‘Digital Media’ optional modules include 6 modules on aspects of computer programming and modules on STEM pedagogy, ‘Inclusive Education’ and ‘Leadership & Change Management’. The Cert is a Level 9 awarded by Trinity College Dublin. Teaching on the course comprises six modules between September and April. Each module consists of a Friday evening (6-9pm) and Saturday (9.30am-5pm) session, in Trinity College Dublin and/or the Google Foundry buildings in Dublin. For completion of the Cert, participants create and submit an assignment for each of the six modules to at least a ‘pass’ standard. About half of the assignments are traditional, essay assignments, while the other half are implementation and reflection assignments based in the Bridge21 pedagogy. The Course Handbook has information on the modules, course structure and assessment. There is a progression pathway from the PG Cert to MEd strands in the School of Education. The cost for the Cert is €425 (inclusive of tuition, student application and graduation fees).
