Position Description Roles and Responsibilities 32 hour per week position under the direction and supervision of the Children’s Program Coordinator. The child advocate plans, implements, leads, and documents children’s activities and groups held after school or while the child’s parent attends groups conducted by other staff members. Groups utilizing a set curriculum will last 60-120 minutes.
Preferred Academic Areas or Skills • Minimum of being currently enrolled in a college program either as an undergraduate, post-graduate, or master’s candidate. Fields of study may include sociology, psychology, early childhood development, education, nursing, recreational therapy, or any related concentration of studies specializing in services to children or families. • Ability to work with children of all ages and have some understanding of behavior due to domestic violence. • Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to work effectively with individuals on all levels; team player.
Goals and Objectives Schedule: Primary hours after school, early evening, and occasional weekends. During summer months, assigned hours will be adjusted because child residents are not in school.
