FFA Members receive six copies of the National FFA Magazine, New Horizons, in addition to the opportunity to participate in 42 career development events, attend camp at the NC FFA Center, apply for scholarships and other awards, attend state and national conventions, and attend numerous leadership and personal development workshops. The State Convention is the highlight event of the year for FFA members. It is the culmination of a year's worth of events where members have the opportunity to come together and celebrate their achievements, be recognized for their individual and community efforts, compete with other members, and kick off another exciting year in agricultural education. The national FFA convention is held each October with nearly 55,000 FFA members and guests from across the country in attendance. Members participate in general sessions, competitive events, educational tours, leadership workshops, a career show and expo, volunteer activities and much more. It is one of the largest annual student conventions in the country. FFA Camps - White Lake

The camping program consists largely of wholesome recreational activities. The sports program, which is competitive on a chapter basis, including swimming and water sports, basketball, softball, volleyball, water ball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, checkers and table tennis. Chapters complete in a talent show, devotional, flag raising ceremony and calisthenics are held early each morning and a vespers program is held each evening. Many of these programs are planned and presented by chapter groups. Leadership Conferences SLC - State Leadership Conference

This is a week long conference held at the FFA Center at White Lake. The week focuses on leaving the member a way to grow personally as a leader and a FFA member. Throughout the week there are workshops held by the past and present state officers, as well as guest speakers about trends in agriculture and life skills. During the week, students also take part in a service project that benefits the community. Whether it is picking butter beans or blueberries to donate to the local food bank or cleaning up and repairing the buildings around the FFA Center, members leave the conference feeling they have made an impact on someone else. LEAD - Leadership Enrichment and Development Conference

LEAD is a week long conference held at White Lake for chapter officer training and development. During this exciting experience, each officer team has the opportunity to plan their Program of Activities for the upcoming year and hear motivating presenters that will provide new and fresh ideas for FFA chapters. Officer teams will also learn how to build relationships, manage issues, and work together to ultimately have a successful year in their chapters. MEGA Leadership Conference

MEGA is a two day conference held once a year in Greensboro. Students who attend have the opportunity to choose from five different tracks, developed to help students to focus on personal growth for their age group. Tracks include a freshman/sophomore path, a junior path, a senior path, spring training - for state officer candidates, and Chapter President's Conference where members will decide on four delegate issues that be voted on at State convention. No matter what track you choose, members are sure to leave with great opportunities for personal growth. WLC - Washington Leadership Conference

WLC is developed and presented by National FFA and provides the ultimate leadership experience for members of the organization. This program is designed for those members who are ready to take their leadership skills to a higher level. Located in our nation's capitol, WLC hosts seven, one-week conferences over the course of the summer. Students will focus on character development, relationship building, taking action in the face of problems, civic engagement and servant leadership. WLC is a hands-on leadership conference that puts practical tools and valuable experiences into the hands of FFA members. Links:
