On November 6, 2015, the Tennessee Supreme Court adopted a revised Rule 46, which will help pave the way for electronic filing of cases in the state appellate courts. The report from the Task Force on Electronic Filing in the Appellate Courts to the Supreme Court is available at: http://www.tsc.state.tn.us/sites/default/files/efilingreportandrecommendations2-14-06.pdf Shelby County - https://efile.shelbycountytn.gov/

In addition to the filing fees of the respective courts, there will be an additional one-time fee that shall be assessed on all civil cases when using Odyssey File and Serve. The additional fee is broken down as follows: $17.50 electronic filing fee to be remitted to Tyler Technologies; $3.25 technology surcharge to be remitted to the Judiciary; and a convenience (credit card) fee which is 3.25% of the amount of the transaction, which includes the filing fee, civil case processing fee to Tyler Technology, and the technology surcharge. “A technology fee is added to all transactions that require a filing fee. Any transaction with fees will also incur charges from SCGov for payment processing. All fees may be reviewed on the Review and Approve Filing page prior to submission.” The E-Filing Technology Fees schedule is listed at: http://www.sccourts.org/efiling/technologyFee s.cfm Yes, a debit or credit card is required to pay for e-filing and statutory fees / costs. We accept all major credit cards. A 3.5% processing fee is added to the total amount to cover the credit card processing fees. If you do not have a debit or credit card, you will need to deliver your documents to the appropriate Clerk of Court office for filing. A waiver for an initial filing must be submitted over the counter with the Clerk’s office for a judge to decide whether you have to pay the fees. If your request for a waiver of statutory fees and costs is approved, your documents will be filed by the clerk. All case initiations, petitions and post judgement filings processed through the Shelby County E-File website require payment of filing fees. These filing fees must be paid with a credit card or e-check at time of filing. The fee amount may or may not be presented at time of filing. Use of the website constitutes your consent to process or charge the credit card or e-check you supply.
