2017 Enrichment Schedule 1st – 6th Week 1: June 26 – June 30
Travel Around the World: Let’s explore! Come taste and create foods from other countries. Each day we will visit a different country and cook some of the regional cuisine. Cookie Monster: Come make familiar favorites and experiment with new recipes. Bar cookies like brownies, blondies will be bakes. We will have some to take home and share. Learn to roll and cut out dough, and decorate using “flood icing”.
Week 2: July 3 – July 7 (no class July 4)
Cupcake Creations: Calling all bakers! Learn how to create filled cupcakes with hidden hearts, cookie dough surprises and more. Unleash your inner cupcake war! OR Junior Reporters: Extra, Extra, read all about it! Interview campers and counselors, create your own puzzles and take your own pictures. By the end of the week we will publish our own Camp Chronicles! Spa Day: Where the kitchen meets cosmetics. Create your own lip balm, face masks and more. Make hydrating fruit infused water and pamper yourself! OR Lego Mania: This course is designed for kids who like to build! Kids can create and leave structures up all week to focus on design and strategy. Collaborate with other who love legos!
Week 3: July 10 – July 14
Breakfast in Bed: Pancakes, crepes and more! We will flip, stir and cook a variety of yummy breakfast treats. Work on your morning recipe collection. OR Digital Dynasty: Do you like computer games? Come and play Minecraft, NASA Kids club, Free Rice, Fun Brain and more! Create your own adventure! Helping Hands: Let help others in our community! Make cookies for the fireman’s home, work with the food pantry, create cards for soldiers and more! OR Ductivities: Are you crafty? Ductivities are creations such as wallets, purses and other crafts made from durable, colorful duct tape. Make crafts for yourself and friends!
Week 4: July 17 – July 21
Tasty Tales: Explore both picture and chapter books and create snacks based on them. Travel from the magic wands of Hogwarts and Harry Potter to the Jam and muffins in If You Give A Moose A Muffin. OR I Heart 3-D Art: Do you love to have fun, create and get messy? Create a large scale sculpture of something that represents you. Experiment and design with plaster sculpture, paper mache and more.
All Things Chocolate: Chocolate lava cake, chocolate molded lollipops, YUM! Willy Wonka would be at home in our chocolate factory. Make delicious treats to eat and share. OR Fantastic Fuse Beads: Fuse bead art is a fun way to explore texture and color. Use an existing template or create your own fun design.
Week 5: July 24 – July 28 Scrumptious Snacks: You won’t go hungry when we make homemade hummus and our own pita chips, or dip into guacamole made from scratch. Amaze your family with your collection of delicious snack recipes. I Scream, You Scream, We all Scream For Ice Cream!: Create a fruit sorbet. Measure marvelous milkshakes, make ice cream in a baggie. Thrills and delicious chills will abound.
Week 6: July 30 - August 4 (for children in grades Pre-k - 2 only) FUSE BEAD FUN (Ages PreK 4- 2nd Grade) Increase your fine motor coordination as you use fuse beads to create an original work of art or follow a prepared pattern. CUPCAKE WARS (Ages PreK 4- 2nd Grade) Calling all kids that love to bake and create! Are you up for the ultimate cupcake challenge? Join us for cupcake fun!
