Europe: MSCA Individual Fellowships. An Opportunity for ASEAN Researchers to Spend Up to 2 Years at a Lab in Europe. Call will open 12 April Individual Fellowships support the mobility of experienced researchers (in possession of a doctoral degree or with at least four years of research experience). They provide opportunities for ASEAN researchers to to work on research in a European context (EU Member States and Associated Countries) and for European researchers to work in ASEAN. Practical Information on How ASEAN Researchers Can Access EU Research Funding and Fellowships Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020). The programme offers plenty of opportunities for researchers in ASEAN to collaborate with partners from Europe or to conduct research in Europe. How the Southeast Asia Chapter of the Marie Curie Alumni Association Can Help You Access EU Research Funding Dr Tatas Brotosudarmo, Chair of the Southeast Asia Chapter of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA), shared his MSCA experience at the Horizon 2020 Info days in Jakarta earlier this month which were supported by EURAXESS ASEAN. He outlined the range of services offered by the MCAA for those researchers in Southeast Asia who are interested in applying for the MSCA. Learn more here

Netherlands: Nuffic Short Course Fellowships. Open to Applicants from Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam These fellowships seek to develop and strengthen the skills, instincts, and abilities of professionals to enable their organisations and communities to succeed in an everchanging world. ERCIM: Post-Doc Fellowships. ASEAN Researchers Welcome to Apply. Deadline 30 April ERCIM, the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics, offers fellowships for PhD holders from all over the world. Fellowships are of a 12 month duration, spent in one of the leading European Research Institutes which makes up part of the ERCIM network.Topics cover most disciplines in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Applied Mathematics. 1st Singapore-Germany Academic-Industry Call for Proposals. Deadline 29 March The goal of the Call for Proposals is to promote research and development bilateral collaboration between Singapore- and German-based public and private institutes and organisations, through joint scientific projects. Specifically, this collaboration calls for the union of 4: one Singapore-based and one German-based public sector research performer, and representatives from one Singapore-based and one German-based industry collaborators. More info here Singapore-France Joint Grant Call Now Open. Deadline 31 March Focus is on basic research into materials, nanotechnologies and nanosystems with relevance to addressing societal challenges including clean, secure and efficient energy; industrial renewal; sustainable mobility and urban systems; and information and communication society. Selected projects will be funded for up to 3 years. Each project will receive up to €250,000 (French component) and up to SGD$450,000 (Singaporean component). Details here

United Kingdom: Royal Society Newton Fund Mobility Grants. Malaysian and Thai Researchers Eligible. Deadline 14 March The Royal Society offers Newton International Exchanges as mobility grants to provide international researchers with funding towards travel, subsistence and research expenses for either a one-off short visit to explore opportunities for building lasting networks or for bilateral visits to strengthen emerging collaborations. Denmark: Mobility Grants for Researchers from Indonesia, Myanmar, and Vietnam. No Deadline Danida Mobility Grants to facilitate the creation and development of international networks and research collaboration through research stays in Denmark by researchers from growth and transition countries including Indonesia, Myanmar, and Vietnam. United Kingdom: Wellcome Trust Doctoral Studentships. ASEAN Researchers Eligible. Deadline 29 March 2018 This scheme enables researchers to undertake humanities or social science doctoral degrees in any area of health. You can apply for a Doctoral Studentship if you want to complete a period of research leading to a PhD in any humanities or social science area.You must have been accepted onto a PhD programme with an eligible host organisation in the UK, Republic of Ireland or a low- or middle-income country.You can be of any nationality.
