EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) CASUAL HOUSEKEEPER / OFFICE CLEANER Expressions of interest are called from suitable people who are interested in providing Casual or Relief Housekeeping/Office Cleaner work as required. We see this role as providing paid casual relief Housekeeping / Office cleaning assistance for our permanent Housekeeper to cover for absences as and when required. We are looking for someone with: • Proven experience providing cleaning support in a health environment • Proven knowledge of cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment • Ability to provide leadership and give constructive feedback in a volunteer environment • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships • Sound understanding of OSH / Health and Safety requirements • Physically able to perform the role • High degree of integrity and confidentially • Ability to resolve problems and manage issues • No impediment to working casual hours as required This expression of interest will close 4.00pm on 20 April 2018. Housekeeping •

Work alongside the volunteers and perform daily cleaning duties associated with the Inpatient Unit and other areas, including cleaning duties associated with the reception area, family facilities, laundry, hospice toilets and the volunteer and seminar kitchen facilities Ensure housekeeping standards comply with relevant regulations/legislation and meet the Hospice quality audit standards Work in collaboration with the Housekeeper to ensure adequate numbers of suitable volunteers are available for duty Ensure housekeeping rosters are monitored daily and replacements volunteers found for absences Ensure volunteers are trained in accordance with Hospice policies and procedures Monitor the standard of housekeeping at all times and provide volunteers with direction and any additional training required so that the hospice complies with required standards

Assist with cleaning audits as required
Office Cleaning • •
Action office cleaning for all Hospice offices, rubbish removal, vacuuming, floor washing, dusting etc. Offices will be thoroughly cleaned and rubbish removed on a regular basis (weekly at least)
Volunteer • • • • • •
Provide a point of contact for and coordinate the hospice’s housekeeping, laundry and evening volunteers to ensure the needs of each work area Train new Volunteers as appropriate for each work area, and arrange a buddy system as required Ensure Volunteers are familiar with and understand the workplace hazards in their work area and understand their role in meeting the health and safety requirements of the work area In conjunction with the Housekeeper & Volunteer Coordinator, monitor and investigate volunteer accidents, injuries or near misses Meet with Volunteers to resolve or respond to individual concerns or queries, as appropriate Ensure that Volunteers feel respected and valued through their contact with the Housekeeper
