FACILITIES​ ​RENOVATIONS​ ​/​ ​IMPROVEMENTS Background Facilities​ ​must​ ​be​ ​kept​ ​current​ ​and​ ​relevant​ ​to​ ​address​ ​changing​ ​student​ ​and​ ​staff​ ​needs. Procedures 1. Proposed​ ​minor​ ​renovations​ ​and​ ​alterations​ ​of​ ​school​ ​buildings​ ​will​ ​be​ ​recommended​ ​by​ ​the Director,​ ​Facilities​ ​as​ ​part​ ​of​ ​the​ ​annual​ ​recommendation​ ​for​ ​capital​ ​projects​ ​to​ ​be​ ​financed out​ ​of​ ​current​ ​revenue. 2. Major​ ​building​ ​renovations​ ​or​ ​alterations​ ​required​ ​to​ ​accommodate​ ​changed​ ​use​ ​of​ ​a​ ​school building,​ ​or​ ​to​ ​upgrade​ ​school​ ​buildings​ ​to​ ​the​ ​most​ ​recent​ ​standards​ ​established​ ​under​ ​the school​ ​buildings​ ​regulations​ ​or​ ​district​ ​standards​ ​as​ ​established​ ​by​ ​the​ ​most​ ​recent construction​ ​of​ ​new​ ​school​ ​buildings​ ​will​ ​be​ ​recommended​ ​to​ ​the​ ​Board​ ​for​ ​submission​ ​for approval​ ​by​ ​Alberta​ ​Education. 3. Final​ ​decision​ ​of​ ​the​ ​extent​ ​of​ ​school​ ​building​ ​renovation​ ​or​ ​alteration​ ​to​ ​be​ ​undertaken​ ​will be​ ​made​ ​by​ ​the​ ​district​ ​having​ ​regard​ ​to​ ​the​ ​financing​ ​approved. 4. Major​ ​renovation​ ​or​ ​alteration​ ​projects​ ​will​ ​be​ ​completed​ ​by​ ​contract. Approval​ ​Date:
