FastTrack Employee Access Guide Welcome to the FastTrack online application system! As a permanent or temporary employee or substitute, you will be able to access FastTrack through your Employee Access profile in the Skyward system. Please note that substitutes are not eligible to apply for Internal Only positions. Substitutes can apply for positions marked Internal and External. A link to Skyward is available on the district website, at the top right-hand side of the screen:
When logging in, be sure to choose either All Areas or Employee Access in the dropdown menu:
*If you are having trouble logging into your Employee Access account, please contact Jeanette Hendrix in the human resources department at (360) 885-5421 or
[email protected].*
The FastTrack Open Positions tab will be at the top left of the screen. If you do not see the FastTrack Open Positions tab, you may be in a different area of Skyward. You will need to use the link on the right side to jump to Employee Access:
Clicking the FastTrack Open Positions tab will take you to this screen:
Currently, there are four ways to filter positions for which you are searching. You may search by job category (certificated, classified, or extra curricular,) position, assignment or location. If you click the Search For Posted Positions button without selecting a filter, you will see all open positions in the district.
To view details of a position, highlight the position and click View Details of Highlighted Position.
This will popup a new screen which looks like this: (top portion)
(bottom portion)
To apply, click Apply For Position at either the top or the bottom of the screen. If you were not already logged in, this is the screen that will appear:
It is best to use your personal email address for your profile. In the event of separation from the district, you may not have access to your district email.
The first time you use FastTrack you will need to create a profile, even though you have an Employee Access profile. The FastTrack profile is not automatically created. When you create your profile, many of the areas will automatically populate with your information that is on file in the Human Resources portion of the database.
After you login, you will be taken to the Application Dashboard:
Each posted position will have required sections to complete before you can submit your application. The sections can be completed in any order. Each section (except Comments) contains a checkbox indicating that you have entered the information to the best of your abilities (or that you have uploaded all required attachments.) Checking the checkbox will also change the status of the corresponding section to ‘Completed’. If you need to make changes to any section, please use the Edit button in that section. Since most positions are posted Internal and External (for both in-district and out of district applicants), the following sections will likely be required: Contact Information This includes your name, phone number and address. It also includes a Confidential Information section which asks for gender, veteran status and whether or not you are an employee of the district. You may login at any time to update your contact information. Please be sure to keep this information current so we are able to contact you if you are selected for an interview. Conditions of Employment You must be able to answer YES to all questions in this section. If the position is posted Internal Only, the main question is, “Are you a current district employee?” When the position is open to outside applicants as well as employees, the questions include those we are legally required to ask and questions designed for the safety of our students and staff. Employees must answer all questions included in the section. Employment History As a current employee, it is best to focus on your employment with the district in this section. If you have held multiple positions in the district, you may list them separately as different employment histories. The school name or department may be listed in place of “Company”.
General Questions (if applicable) If General Questions are used, and the position is posted Internal Only, the questions are, “What is your current position?” and “What is your district start date?” When the position is open to outside applicants as well as employees, more questions are included. The answers to these questions do not have to be yes. Your answers in this section will not be carried over to another application for a different position. Therefore, you may want to keep your answers jotted down for easy reference if you think you may be applying to several positions. Attachments A cover letter and list of references are required in this section. If you choose to make your cover letter positionspecific, please select the "Unique to Application" box in the Attachments section. If you are applying for a coaching position (Extra Curricular,) a copy of your current First Aid/CPR card is also required. Other attachments may be uploaded, but are not usually required. Comments This is an optional section where you may add any comments you may have regarding your application. If you choose to make comments specific to the position, a check box to apply the comment only to that specific application should be selected. For Internal and External postings, required sections will also include Education History for all postings and Certifications/Licenses for certificated postings. When no sections are marked ‘Incomplete’, you may submit your application with the “Submit to HR” button at the upper right of the application dashboard.
After you submit your application, you will receive an automated message verifying that you have successfully applied. That’s it! If you are using a public computer, be sure to log out of your profile. Check back often to see new vacancy postings, and please be sure to keep your contact information updated so you can be contacted if you are selected for an interview!
