2017 wrap-up  2018 curriculum: Insects!  2018 dates: Week 1 (boys) June 17-23, Week 2 (boys) June 24-30, Week 3 (Coed) July 1-7, Week 4 (girls) July 8-14, Week 5 (girls) July 1521, Week 6 (girls), July22-28  Registration begins midnight 1 January 2018  Volunteers, especially nurses, are needed! 

CRITTER CAMP For campers having finished 1st or 2nd grade.  Limited to 32 campers  Dates: July 3-5, 2018 (during Co-ed week 3)  Crafts, Nature Studies (Insects) and Swim  Registration begins midnight 1 January 2018 

WEKIVA VOLUNTEER TRAINING AND JUNIOR GARDENER LEADER TRAINING Save the Date! February 9-11, 2018  Come learn how to assist WYC staff in crafts and nature study.  Come experience the camp!  Take home the information to share with your junior gardeners!  Camp Open House is Sunday, 11 February 2018 from 11:30am to 1pm. 

S.E.E.K. CONFERENCE An environmental conference for college bound high school students.  3 year curriculum rotation may include Crystal River Marine Science Center, UF Horticulture study at the Citra Research Center and Silver Springs.  Tuition $300 with BOD approval. 

AWARDS Judgment Day! 7 December, 8:30am, HQ  All Award information available online  Prepare applications and the BOE  Due dates differ—most due 1 December but several are due before or after that date!  Winners announced at convention  Remember, you must enter to win! 

SCHOOL GARDENS No fingerprints required!  May include working with Charter Schools, Scouts, Church Sunday School classes, etc. 

UNSOLICITED AWARDS FOR LANDSCAPE DESIGN Purpose: Recognizing and encouraging well-designed and maintained plantings in the public sector. The awards are “unsolicited” in that they are not requested by the places nominated. Nominees are not notified. Any garden club member, especially graduates of the NGC Landscape Design School, may nominate any well-designed and maintained landscaped area in the public sector in his/her District. Categories eligible for nominations are: 1. Small business (such as gas stations, fast food, etc.) 2. Public Facility (such as library, park, police station, etc.) 3. Private Facility (such as church, hospital, etc.) 4. Private Residence of Merit. 5. Special “Irma” Award 2017-2018
