SCHOOL HOLIDAY FIT & FUN WELLBEING PROGRAM
Friends Health & Fitness is excited to be able to offer a high quality, comprehensive fitness, health & wellbeing program for children aged between 6 – 15 years, during the up-coming school holidays. Please be aware that the programs can only go ahead if there are suitable numbers to make it viable, so if this program appeals to you and your children, enrol now! Numbers are limited, so avoid disappointment and get in early. Go to our website and download a form or simply complete the last page of this guide and return it to Friends Health & Fitness with your payment. The cost of the program is $45 per day. Programs will be offered for one day in the first week of the holidays and two days of the second week.

School holiday programs will start at 11.30am and finish at 4pm Children will need to be prepared for a highly active day! Children will need to bring: • Towel; • Bathers & swim cap; • Sports shoes; • Sports clothes; • Drink bottle; • Packed lunch and healthy snacks (absolutely no nuts are to be brought on-site).
The fitness circuit will involve 40 minutes of high energy, fun and challenging exercise experiences that will be fully adapted to meet your child’s needs. The fitness circuit will provide a whole body workout for children and they will reap the positive fitness outcomes. The children will be exposed to some of the latest fitness training equipment and be educated in safe exercise, stretching and training techniques.

Our qualified swim instructors will launch children into a fun-filled world of water games and activities. Younger children will be offered more game-based activities, while older children will be introduced to some team-games including water polo or water volleyball or basketball.
A wonderful opportunity for children to experience quality coaching from Hockey Tasmania. Children will experience a variety of Hockey skills, drills and games associated with hockey on Tuesday 4 October. The coaching will cater for all abilities and be a fun introduction to the game. All equipment will be supplied, however, children may bring their own stick if they have one.
c) Dance for Kids Children will experience a dance-based class designed to enhance, fitness, coordination and agility. A qualified instructor will take children through a range of fun-filled, age-appropriate moves and steps to music that will ensure they enjoy the entire experience. Benefits Helps develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children’s lives by making fitness fun. Classes incorporate key childhood development elements like leadership, respect, team work, confidence, selfesteem, memory, creativity, coordination, cultural awareness.
In the first week of the holidays, children will have the chance to work with Lady Chargers Basketball star – Kathleen Scheer to sharpen their basketball skills and knowledge of the game. Children will be introduced to a variety of basketball games and activities that will assist with coordination, fitness and teamwork that will be a lot of fun
f) Soccer games and fun On Friday 7 October, children will have the opportunity to sharpen their ‘football’ skills and experience enjoyable soccer games and activities with one of the experienced coaches from the Hobart Zebra’s Soccer Club. All activities may be held on our outdoor courts if the weather is fine or an indoor sports hall should the weather be inclement. Sneakers must be worn on all surfaces. Football boots are not to be worn.

a) Kids Fitness Circuit As the program will be catering for a broad age range of children, the activities will be suitably developed by our qualified Personal Trainers to ensure children are safe when undertaking all exercises and activities. Children will be fully supervised at all times by our experienced Personal Training staff.
