The Third International Geological Conference of Kurdistan

The outstanding success of the first and second GeoKurdistan Conferences, which were held in Sulaimani encourage the geological community and the Kurdistan Geology Society, in cooperation with the Department of Geology (University of Sulaimani) to hold the third international geological conference (GeoKurdistan III) in Sulaimani city, focusing on the geology of Kurdistan. The organizing committee is honoured to invite and encourage all geoscientists throughout Kurdistan, Iraq and abroad to participate in this conference.

Venue: GeoKurdistan III will be held in the city of Sulaimani in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, at the new campus of the University of Sulaimani during the period of 17-19, October 2017. The conference aims at providing a unique opportunity for academics and professional geologists to exchange new ideas in different fields of geosciences, addressing new challenges, share solutions and outline future research directions.

Call for paper: GeoKurdistan-III welcomes high-quality scientific contributions on geology of Kurdistan. Selected keynote speakers will be addressing hot topics relevant to the theme of the conference. The conference language will be in English. Accepted presentations would be presented in oral. Presented papers will be published in the Journal of Zankoy Sulaimani (JZS). All papers must be submitted in MS Word to the email: [email protected]. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper. All papers will be peer reviewed by two independent referees of the Journal of Zankoy Sulaimani ISSN: 1812-4100. JZS which is a professional periodical journal established in March 1997 and will be published across the Iraqi Kurdistan Region by University of Sulaimani. All the published papers can be browsed on our website (www.univsul.edu.iq). JZS has been indexed by several world class databases, such as: 1. Topics: The conference welcomes all papers in fields of earth sciences related to Kurdistan. Proposals for thematic sessions are welcome.

Registration: All researchers need to be registered in order to be sent the electronic author kit and a unique registration number. A registration form must be filled out and sent back to the conference secretariat via conference website. Registration fee includes one copy of the accepted papers abstract book, conference documents and stationeries. In addition to coffee breaks, lunch, dinner, welcome and closing receptions. Registration fee is 30000ID. Student's fee is 10000ID. The registration form must be filled out and sent back before the due date. Registration fee can be paid on site.
