47 Anniversary Season of Quality Chamber Music The Henry Ford Estate is currently closed for renovations, but thanks to the generosity of the Historic Ford Estates and the University of Michigan-Dearborn, the Fair Lane Music Guild is being allowed to use the Pool Room for these concerts. The Fair Lane Music Guild continues its format of café seating and wonderful dessert concerts. Doors will open and service will begin one half hour prior to the concerts.
Gabriel Bolkosky and Michele Cooker – From Bach to Blues Wednesday, October 26, 2016, 7:30 P.M.

Violinist Gabriel Bolkosky and pianist Michele Cooker present From Bach to Blues, a program of violin and piano music including Bach's Sonata No. 1 in G Minor and other works by Sarasate, Debussy and Ravel. Bolkosky is known for his versatility and sensitivity as a violinist and has been praised for his ability to "take audiences into his confidence and include them." The pair have performed extensively together, in venues from Texas to Traverse City, and are based in Ann Arbor.
Dearborn Symphony Brass Quintet – Seasonal Delights Wednesday, November 16, 2016, 7:30 P.M.

The Guild is delighted to welcome the Dearborn Symphony Brass Quintet, presenting a program of light classical and pop selections to usher in the holiday season. The artists, composed of the principal brass players of the Dearborn Symphony, also perform regularly with Detroit's top ensembles – Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Michigan Opera Theatre, Fisher Theatre and Fox Theatre. The Dearborn Symphony Brass Quintet includes Michael McGowan and John Hartwick (trumpets), Doug Blackwell (trombone), Neal Campbell (tuba) and the Symphony’s newly hired French horn player.

Ragtime and boogie-woogie pianist Bob Milne is referred to as “a national treasure” by the Librarian of Congress, and his concert tours have taken him all over the globe, from small, vintage operas houses to large, prestigious concert halls. He was a musical ambassador for the United States for six years, performing goodwill tours in Japan, Okinawa, Ireland, and for the Swiss Parliament. His concerts are more than just music. They are history lessons, too, sprinkled with humorous anecdotes and wry asides.

Chamber Soloists of Detroit returns to conclude the 2016-2017 Guild season. As has become its trademark, CSD will again be introducing some of Detroit’s newest rising stars to metropolitan Detroit audiences. The performance will feature Wei Yu (principal cellist DSO), Ralph Skiano (principal clarinetist DSO) and Pauline Martin (pianist and artistic director of CSD).
