Fundraising Guide Here are some ways that you can raise money to help Friends of Orphans provide much needed support to orphans, abductees, and former child soldiers in need. Run a Bake Sale
Pick a date where there will be lots of people out and about Share information about the bake sale on social media and with family and friends Each person contributes a different snack Set up a table with all of the goodies, and sell your tasty treats for a good cause! Host a Book Swap/Pizza Party
Invite friends for a pizza party and book swap! Charge a low admission fee for each attendee--enough to cover the snacks and provide a small donation Each person can bring a book that they read and loved to swap with another reader Chat about your favorite books and have fun swapping!
Collect Donations
If you are a bookseller, you can place a clearly marked jar by the register at your store, and invite patrons to donate their spare change to Friends of Orphans as they check out This is a simple and easy way to raise awareness for Friends of Orphans and collect donations Please check with your employer before soliciting donations All proceeds should be donated to Friends of Orphans through their US based fiscal sponsor XSlaves.org, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping orphans, abductees, and former child soldiers in Northern Uganda. Friends of Orphans was started and is run by Ricky Richard Anywar, whose story inspired the novel Soldier Boy by Keely Hutton. For more information about Friends of Orphans, visit FROUganda.org.
