INTRODUCTION Multiphase flow refers to the simultaneous flow of gas, liquid or solid phases. In industrial applications where multiphase flow exists, the task of sizing the equipment for pumping, transporting and storing such multiphase mixture is a formidable task. This is because of the difficulty associated with predicting the phase distribution (flow pattern) in the system for given operating conditions. An immense amount of research and development is being carried out globally over last fifty years in the field of multiphase flow. Yet many challenges in multiphase flow systems are unresolved. The objectives of this course is to disseminate fundamental knowledge and contemporary research in the field of multiphase flow and to introduce the recent trend in modelling, design, analysis, computational techniques and experimentation in mini/micro/macroscale multiphase flow. The present short term course is designed to introduce basics of multiphase flow, Computational multiphase flow (CFD/CMFD), Experimental multiphase flow and Microscale multiphase flow under adiabatic and diabatic flow conditions. Participants will be benefitted by attending the course to carry out research and experience the demonstration and hands-on session on multiphase flow system.
