Research mining granite in Vermont; the history, the process, and where it is today. Present findings in a pamphlet.

Demonstrate the causes and types of metamorphosism and if/where they occur in Vermont using samples as part of a report..

Create a visual timeline of the geologic history of Vermont, marking key moments. Do this as a comic strip that runs a long length of wall, a photo essay, or as a scrap or comic book.

Define, describe and demonstrate chemical and mechanical weathering through a handbook; include examples of each happenening in Vermont.

Research mining in Vermont. Explain/illustrate how mines work, where they are located, & what they are mining and how they make the removed material usable.

Create a user friendly field guide/manual for different minerals.

Demonstrate how to classify igneous rocks through a pamplet. Explain why and how (or not) they appear in Vermont, using samples.

Demonstrate the three different types of sedimentary rocks in how they are formed, classified, and where/if located in Vermont using samples.

Build a labelled model, 3D display, sculpture, or painting of the earth's anatomy; include distances, temperature, matter states, and technical terms of the different layers.

Research the geological history of Montpelier area and present it in the exhibit and to the class in a creative, informative manner such as via a guidebook, yearbook, or mural.
