JAMES BOND: SPECTRE! Appropriate for levels: A2-B1
Introductory Notes If you can organise for a projector and screen in the classroom, this works really well, as it has the feel of the cinema. If not, it works well enough on a laptop with small groups as long as they can all see the screen. There are 2 resources exploited here:
1. The Trailer for Spectre embedded in the Go English Magazine Post: http://goenglishmagazine.es/the-man-we-all-love-to-love/ 2. Online article from The Independent: Who will replace Daniel Craig?

Explain that ‘Spectre’ is going to be Daniel Craig’s last Bond film and that a new Bond is going to be needed. Introduce the candidates as they appear in the online article. They may not recognise them all, but it doesn’t matter. Just ask them to decide who is the best candidate or the job.
Next, go to the trailer. Play it once through, just for fun. Low level students will not understand the audio, but it’s very visual.
After playing once, explain that you’re going to play a game:
What’s Happening?
It works like this:
Imagine you are contestants in a TV quiz show. You all have a buzzer. When I pause the video, you have to buzz (just get them to make a buzzing noise) and form a sentence using the present continuous. For example: James Bond is chasing a criminal
Play the trailer again and pause at appropriate moments. Award a point to each student who correctly produces a sentence in the present continuous.
