Q: What is Google APAC University Graduates Test? A: The Google APAC University Graduates Test ("Test") is an online test designed to look for young talent majoring in Computer Science and related fields, to further determine interview eligibility at Google. Q: What is the difference between the Test and Google Code Jam? A: The Test is powered by Google Code Jam, using the same scoring system, mechanics and etc. However, the content in the Test is on a non-competitive class of topics. Q: Who is eligible? A: The exact details are explained in the Terms , but here are some of the requirements that you have to meet at the time of registration: ● You must be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration, or of the age of majority in your country, if higher than 18 years of age. ● You must be a legal resident of, or studying in, one of the following countries and territories: Afghanistan, American Samoa, Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Cook Islands, East Timor, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kiribati, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, New Zealand, Niue, Northern Mariana Islands, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Wallis and Futuna. ● You must be currently pursuing a Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degree and intend to graduate in 2016. ● You are not a resident of Crimea, Cuba, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, or Quebec or anywhere that the Test is prohibited by law. Q: How can I participate? A: All participants must register and provide the required information about themselves at the Test Website, located at http://code.google.com/codejam/apactest . Registration is now open. It extends through the Test, but you must register before being able to participate in the Test. Two hours before the Test starts, you will be able to participate and load the dashboard. The problems will not appear until the Test starts. Read the Quick-Start Guide to start.
Q: When will the Test be held? A: The Test consists of four rounds which will take place online at the times listed below. You can participate in any and all rounds of your choice. To participate you must log in to the Test website to attempt to solve a number of problems within the time period. You are responsible for determining the corresponding time in your time zone. Q: What kind of problems will be used in the Test? A: Mainly on basic computer knowledge, algorithms and programming capabilities. The Test will focus on fundamentals. Q: How do I prepare for the Test? A: We encourage you to get warmed up. You may participate in the Practice Round happening on Sunday, August 16, 2015 from 13:00 CST to 16:00 CST. The Practice Round provides relatively simple questions for you to practice on. Try the problems for yourself and get familiar with the platform. If you’re new to this platform, we highly recommend starting with the least difficult problems and moving up from there as you get more confident. Beware: the round that has the easiest problem A may have a very difficult problem B. Q: What happens after the Test? A: We will run the anti-cheating check after each Round. After each Round, some of the highest-scoring participants in that Round may be invited to interview at Google. Under no circumstances shall the interview invitations be construed as an offer or contract of employment with Google. Participants may not be invited in the sequence of ranking in the Test. All decisions relating to the eligibility of submissions, viability of submissions, the ranking of submissions, invitation to interview and all other matters pertaining to the Test shall be within the sole discretion of Google.
